AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA,
AMEN DING CHAPTER 30, SECTION 30 -10 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES; RELATING TO GEOGRAPHICAL COMMISSION
DISTRICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS
AND AN EFFECTIVE, DA'L'E.
WHERE AS, the City Charter of the City of Longwood, Florida, requires that the City
Coi divide the City into five (5) geographical commission districts; and
WHEREAS, the City Charter requires the City Commission to amend the boundaries of
such districts from time to time as necessary to maintain said districts from time -to -time as
necessary to maintain said districts in as nearly equal population as practicable; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Longwood, Florida has determined that
the districts established in Section 30 -10 of the City Code require an amendment; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that the districts established by this Ordinance
are nearly equal in population as practicable and are consistent with the principles of equal and
effective representation as required by the federal and state constitutions.
NOW, THEREFORE, DE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 . Amendment. That Section 30 -10, Geographical commission districts, be
and the same, is hereby amended to read as follows (words that are AH- ekc -n-or&t; are deletions;
words that are underlined are additions):
(a) The city shall be divided into five commission districts described as follows:
(1) .District 1: That area of Longwood lying east of Rangeline Road extended from State
Road 434 north to the intersection of E.E. Williamson Road / u- Longwood Hills Roads
thence north to the northwest corner of the Danbury Mill subdivision; thence east to
the northeast corner of the Danbury Mill subdivision, thence south to Longwood Hills
Roadg d -e-D ; thence east on Longwood Hills Road to the
northeast corder of CorJesu Subdivision; thence south to the northern boundary of the
Tiberonn Cove subdivision; thence east to the northeast boundary of the Tiber ®nn Cove
subd'ivisionIl4 thence south to the intersection of South Milwee Street and State Road 434.;
thence west on State Road 434 extended to the intersection of Rangeline Road and State
Road 434.
(2) District 2: That area of Longwood lying south of State Road 434 at the westerly city
limits to the intersection of State Road 434 and South Milwee Street; thence notch to the
intersection of West Church Avenue; thence east to the intersection of East Church Avenue
and Credo Street; thence south to State Road 434; thence east to the easterly city limits;

thence south to the southern city limits.
(3) District 3: That area of Longwood east of the northeast corner of CorJesu Subdivision;
thence east on Longwood Dills Road to the intersection of Longwood Dills Road and Citrus
Tree Lane; thence south to Nest 14th Avenue; thence east to the Seaboard Coastline
Railroad; thence south to the southwest comer of the Oak Villa Subdivision; thence east
along the south boundary line of the Oak Villa Subdivision to the intersection of North
Grant Street; thence south to the intersection of North Grant Street and Seminole Avenue;
thence east to the intersection of Seminole Avenue and Highland Street; thence north to the
intersection of Highland Street and Florida Avenue; thence east to the intersection of
Florida Avenue and Highway 17 -92; thence south to the midpoint on Highway 17 -92
between the intersection of Highwav 17 -92 and Nursery Road and the intersection of

thence east to bide Street; thence south on mid e Street to the intersection of Ridge
Street and Oak Lane, thence east to the intersection of Oak Lane and Talmo Street;.
thence south to the intersection of Talmo Street and State Road 434; thence west to a point
on State Road 434 directly south of the intersection of Credo Street and Pay Avenue;
thence north to the intersection of Credo Street and East Church Avenue; thence west to the
intersection of West Church Avenue and South Milwee Street; thence north to the northeast
comer of the Tiberon Cove subdivision; thence west along the northern boundar y of
the Tiberon Cove subdivision to a point directly south of tine intersection of Longwood
and st the. CorJesu Subdivision; thence north to the
Hills Road a the nortlnea corner of Co rJes

Subdivision.
(4) District 4: That area of Longwood I' om the northern most point of Lake Emma Road;
thence south to the intersection of Lake Emma Road and Longwood Hills Road; thence east
to the intersection of Longwood Hills Road and Citrus Tree Lane; thence south to Nest
14th Avenue; thence east to the Seaboard Coastline Railroad; thence run south to the
southwest corner of the Oak Villa Subdivision; thence east along the south boundary of the
Oak Villa Subdivision to the intersection North Grant Street; thence south to the
intersection of North Grant Street and Seminole Avenue; thence east to the intersection of
Seminole Avenue and Highland Street, thence north to the intersection of Highland Street
and Florida Avenue; thence east to the intersection of Florida Avenue and Highway 17 -92;
thence north to the northern city limits.
(5) District 5: That area of Longwood lying west of Rangeline Road extended from the
northern city limits to State Road 434 to the western city limits and including the Coventry
and the Shadow Hill Subdivisions.

described and established by Section 1 of this Ordinance is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" A
copy of such map shall be kept on file by the City Clerk. It is not intended for such map to be
codified within the City Code of Ordinances.

SECTION 3. Conflicts All ordinances or pans of ordinances in conflict herewith, be
and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4 . Severabilily If any section or portion of a section of this Ordinance proves
to be invalid, unlawful or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the validity,
force or effect of any other section of this Ordinance.
SECTION S . Effective Date This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon
its passage and adoption.
