1. CALL TO ORDER. Mayor Cortes called the meeting to order at 6:00
p.m.
2. DIX HITE & PARTNERS, INC. WORKSHOP TO DISCUSS
SECOND PHASE OF REITER PARK.
Commissioner Durso moved to suspend the rules. Seconded by -
Commissioner Maingot and carried by a unanimous voice vote.
Mr. Jamie Wright with Dix Hite & Partners, Inc. gave a presentation on
Reiter Park. He went over the workshop goals to discuss and prioritize the
program of the future park phases, as well as, the history of the master
plan development. He then went over case studies and placemarking
principles, which capitalize on a local community's assets, inspiration and
potential, ultimately creating good public spaces that promote people's
health, happiness, and well-being. He said a great destination has at least
ten (10) places within it, each with ten things to do. These could include a
place to site, playgrounds to enjoy, art to touch, music to hear, food to eat,
history to experience, and people to meet. He went over the input that was
gathered during the 2010 workshop and how they are applying this input.
Mr. Wright discussed what has been built in Phase I and the neat steps for
Phase II. He said he would like to discuss and work through future park
phasing and prioritization. He concluded the formal presentation and had
all attendees break out into smaller groups to discuss future park phasing,
rate the importance and priorities for future phases.

The break out session lasted approximately half an hour.
Mr. Wright brought the group back together and a representative from
each group summarized what priorities they collectively discussed. He
concluded the Work Session by thanking everyone for their input and
attendance. He also asked everyone to turn their notes in to him and he
would be compiling all the information into a document to assist City Staff
develop and prioritize.
3. ADJOURN. Mayor Cortes adjourned the meeting at 7:30 p.m.
