1. CALL TO ORDER. Mayor Cortes called the Special Meeting to order at
5:55 p.m. that followed the Work Session, which had just ended.
2. SET THE 'TENTATIVE MILLAGE RATE FOR THE 2014/2015
FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2014, AND
AUTHORIZE THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO COMPLETE
THE CERTIFICATION OF TAXABLE VALUE (DR-420) AND
MAXIMUM MILLAGE LEVY PRELIMINARY DISCLOSURE
(DR04201MMP) FORMS VIA THE DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE'S
ETRIM SYSTEM.
Mr. Williams stated each year in connection. with the requirements for the
Truth in Millage, TRIM, and the City Commission must establish a
tentative millage rate. He said this is the part of the process where they
establish the tentative rate. He said this will come back for the first
reading at the September 3, 2014 Commission Meeting. He recommended
they set the tentative millage rate at 5.50 because they could always come
down, but they cannot go up.

Mayor Cortes asked for the roll back rate.
Ms. Barclay stated the roll back rate is 5.3788.
Mayor Cortes asked for a motion.
Commissioner Maingot made a motion to set the tentative millage
rate at 5.500. Seconded by Commissioner Weller.
Mayor Cortes stated he feels it is time to readjust and is okay with moving
forward to meet the requirements of TRIM with the understanding that he
would like to see it adjusted to the roll back rate.
Mr. Williams said he would leave tonight with the ultimate goal of
reviewing to get them down to that roll back rate. He said it is better to
give themselves the flexibility and have the ability to come down.
Motion carried by a unanimous roll call vote.
3. ADJOURN. Mayor Cortes adjourned the meeting.at 6:00 p.m.
