AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA,
AMENDING LONGWOOD CITY CODE CHAPTER 2
ADMINISTRATION, ARTICLE VI BOARDS, COMMISSIONS,
COMMITTEES, SECTION 2-313 TO ALLOW BOARD AND
COMMITTEE MEETINGS TO START BETWEEN 6:00 P.M. AND
7:00 P.M. AS DESIRED BY EACH BOARD OR COMMITTEE;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, CODIFICATION
AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Longwood desires to allow flexibility in the start time of board
and committee meetings,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Recitals. The above recitals are true and correct and constitute legislative findings of
the City Commission.
Section 2. Adoption. Section 2-313 of Chapter 2, Article VI, Longwood City Code, is hereby
amended as follows (underlined words are additions; sur-iiek-pen 0-h-r-A-lugh words are deleted) --_

ARTICLE VI. - BOARDS, COMMISSIONS, COMMITTEES -
Sec. 2-313 - Rules and procedures for boards and committees.
(b) Time; meetings open to public. All board and committee meetings shall generally be called to
order at between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 7.00 p.m. as determined by each board or committee.
The chair, or three board or committee members, may call for meetings to begin earlier than
76.00 p.m. with at least 96 hours' notice to the city clerk's office in order to afford the city clerk
the ability to provide reasonable notice of such change to the public; provided however, a change
in meeting time should not occur if it would be inconsistent with legal advertising or notice
requirements concerning a matter to be heard at a meeting. The start times for meetings under
this subsection do not apply to the code enforcement special magistrate whom shall have
flexibility on when to call code enforcement hearings. All meetings are open to the public and
will conform to the requirements of the pertinent state statutes and City Code requirements.

Section 3. Conflicts. If any Ordinances or parts of thereof are in conflict herewith, this
Ordinance shall control to the extent of the conflict.
Section 4. Codification. Section 2 of this Ordinance shall be codified and made a part of the
City Code of Ordinances, that the Sections and exhibits of this Ordinance may be renumbered or
relettered to accomplish such intention. The word "Ordinance" may be changed to "Section,"
"Article," or other appropriate word. The City Clerk is given liberal authority to correct
scriveners' errors, such as incorrect code cross references, grammatical, typographical and
similar or like errors when codifying this Ordinance.
Section 5. Severability. If any portion of this Ordinance is determined to void,
unconstitutional, or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remainder of this Ordinance
shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 6. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
