AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LONGWOOD,
SEMINOLE COUNTY, FLORIDA, ADOPTING THE
FINAL LEVYING OF AD VALOREM TAXES
AND MAKING THE ANNUAL TAX LEVY FOR THE
FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING OCTOBER 1, 2023
AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2024, PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION THE CITY OF LONGWOOD,
FLORIDA,AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1:That the City of Longwood of Seminole County, Florida, on September
18th of 2023, adopted Fiscal Year Final Millage Rates following a public hearing as required
by Florida Statue 200.065;
SECTION 2: That the City of Longwood of Seminole County, Florida, held a public
hearing as required by Florida Statute 200.065;
SECTION 3:That the amount determined by the budget as necessary to be raised
by ad valorem taxation in the City of Longwood, Florida, for the operation and expenses
for the administration of the affairs of the City is the sum of$10,198,936;
SECTION 4: That the millage for the Fiscal Year 2023/2024 is fixed at 5.5000
mills which is an increase of 10.76 percent from the current year rolled back rate
4.9655 as computed per Florida Statute 200.065;
SECTION 5: That there shall be levied and collected by the City of Longwood
Florida, for the Fiscal Year commencing OCTOBER 1, 2023 and ending SEPTEMBER 30,
2024 upon all NON-EXEMPT TAXABLE PROPERTY within the corporate limits of said City,
a tax of 5.5000 mills on each dollar of non-exempt appraised value for the purpose of
realizing a sum sufficient to fund the budget and meet and defray the necessary
operating expenses of said City for the ensuing Fiscal Year;
SECTION 6: That the gross taxable value for operating purposes not exempt
from taxation within the City of Longwood has been certified by the Seminole County
Property Appraiser to the City of Longwood as$1,854,351,982;
SECTION 7: That all ordinances, or parts of ordinances, in conflict herewith, and
the same are hereby repealed;

SECTION 8: If any section, sentence, clause, or phrase of this ordinance is held
to be invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, the holding shall in
no way affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance; and
SECTION 9: This Ordinance shall become effective on OCTOBER 1, 2023.
