Ordinance 08-1876 ~ ORDINANCE NO. 08-1876 AN ORDINANCE OF THE (:ITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA, ADOPTING A BUDGET FOR TH]E CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCT4~BER 1., 2008 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2;009, APPROPRIATING AND ALLOCATING REVENUE OF THE CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2008/2009, PROVIDING FOR AMENDMENT BY ORDINANCE, PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVF.RABILTTY AND EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 6.04 of the City Charter of the City of Longwood, Florida, and the laws of the State of Florida, a proposed budget of the estimated revenues and expenditures and complete financial plan of all city funds and activities for Fiscal Year 2008/2009 has been prepared and reviewed; and WHEREAS, the City Commission is of the opinion that all of the items of ~ anticipated revenues and expenditures for the said fiscal year are reasonable, necessary and proper for the administration of the affairs of and the proper conduct of the business of the City of Longwood; and WHEREAS, after further review, the City Commission desires to adopt said. budget; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: There is hereby adopted a budget for the fiscal year 2008/2009 for the City of Longwood, Florida, far the period beginning October 1, 2008 and ending September 30, 2009. SECTION 2: A complete copy of the entire budget for fiscal year 2008/200.9 consisting of estimated revenues and expenditures is attached to this ordinance and specifically incorporated herein along with. all amendments thereto made by this Commission on the date of adoption. SECTION 3: Salar}~ adjustments are hereby approved as a part of the budget, as adopted, for all city employees who a;re not members of a collective bargaining unit. Ordinance No. 08-1876 Page 2 Those employees designated by the Florida Publlic Employees Commission as being within the collective bargaining units represented by Longwood Professional Firefighters' Association, Local No. 3163, the International Union of Operating Engineers (AFL-CIO) Local 673 and the Teamsters Local Union No. 385 are subject to salary adjustments only upon ratification by the respective collective bargaining units and. the city or imposition by the city following resolution of an impasse bf;tween the city and the collective bargaining units or otherwise as provided by law. . SECTION 4: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. SECTION 5: This ordinance ma.y be amended. by ordinance. SECTION 6: If any section, senl:enee, clause or phrase of this ordinance is held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, the holding shall in no way affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance.
