Resolution 09-1213RESOLUTION NO. 09-1213 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE CITY COMMISSION RULES AND )PROCEDURES, SECTION 5.3, ORDER OF BUSINESS; AND SECTION 10, RULES OF ORDER; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Longwood has determined that amendments to the City Commission Rules and Procedures are desirable; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Longwood, Florida, as follows: Delete- Insert Section I. That Section 5.3, Order of Business, be amended as follows: 5.3. 1. Call to order. 2. A moment of silent mediation led by the City Attorney followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. 3. Section II. That Section 10, Rules of Order, be amended as follows: 10. Rules of Order The current edition of Parliamentary Procedure Basics for Governmental Bodies, Agenda Associates, is adopted as the Commission's procedural rules, except that the State Constitution, State Statutes, City Charter, City Ordinances, and other provisions contained herein shall prevail in the event of a conflict with Parliamentary Procedure Basics for Governmental Bodies. Each Commissioner shall receive one copy upon election. The current edition of Robert's Rules of Order;�0tb edition, shall be used as authority over any matters not covered by the Parliamentary Procedure Basics for Governmental Bodies. Section III. Conflicts. Any resolutions or policies in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section W. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
