1. Cail to Order. Chair Shoemaker called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
_ 2. Approval of Minutes May 2, 2(106 Regular Meeting.
Member Gavoni moved to approve the minutes of May 2, 2006. Seconded
by Member Richardson and carried by a unanimous voice vote with Vice
Chair Driver absent.
3. Public Participation. None.
4. Old Business.
A. .Recreation Program Manager's Report.
Ms. Meli reported Rock the Park was a huge success. She said there were a lot: of
skaters and they were very excited about the skate park. She stated the DJ played
appropriate music enjoyed by teens. She reported Blue Grass did not take place
last month. She said there has been a problem with musicians not attending. She
reported Summer Camp started this week. There are fifty (50) elementary school.
age children and thirty (30) middle school age children enrolled. They went ice
skating today and will be going to Wet iV' Wild on Thursday. She declared
Lyman High School has been great. to work with and this would be a good
summer. She reported Kids Stage has been hired and would be coming to Summer
. Camp one. day a week to work with the children by age groups. They will be
working on speaking in front of people and they will be doing some plays. She
said the camp theme this -year is Pirates..

Ms. Meli reported National Night Out. ~~ould be held on August 1, 2006 at Reiter
Park. There will be another tour of the Police Department and the Fire
Department will be more involved this }year. She said this would be the last event
in Reiter Park prior to the renovations starting. She ,stated the permitting with St.
Johns Water Management District was in the process for Reiter Park and would
take 30-9D days. Upon receiving this permit, the project would go out to bid.
Member Uliano stated the kids really enjoyed Rock the Park. She said holding
this event during the last week of school. was a great way to start the summer
vacation.
Ms. Nleli reported the Family Summer Movie Night would begin June 15th. It will
be held on Thursday evenings through July and they will be alternating G and PG
rated movies.
5. New Business.
Chair Shoemaker reviewed the preliminary sketch for Booville.
Ms. Meli advised that once the layout was decided upon., changes to Booville
would need to be made with decorations;.
Member Hunter volunteered to draw the plans on CADD once the dimensions
were determined.
Ms. Meli reported the Fall Festival was .planned this year for Friday, Saturday,
Monday, and Tuesday nights with the C.arriival being held on Tuesday night. They
will be closed on Sunday night.
Member Hunter suggested a separate ticket booth for Booville.
Member Uliano suggested using bails oi' hay placed around the stage for children
to sit on during story time.
Discussion was held regarding the Fall Festival and Carnival.
Ms. Mel announced there would not be a meeting in July due to the .July 4th
Holiday and there would be no meeting in August due to National Night Out.
6. Adjournment. Chair Shoemaker adjourned the meeting at 8:10 p.m.
