1. Call to Order. Chair Shoemaker called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
2. Approval of Minutes April 3, 2(?07 Regular Meeting.
Vice Chair Driver moved to approve the minutes as submitted. Seconded
by Member Hunter and carried by a unanimous voice vote with Members
Richardson and LJliano absent.
3. Public Participation. None.
4. Old Business.
A. Recreation Manager's Report.
Mr. Capizzi- reported Summer Carnp sign ups started in April and. they have three
weeks completely filled. He said Futsal ttnd Golf were going well. There was an
article in The Lake Mary Herald on the 1?utsal Program. He reported they started
an oil painting class that is being taught by Linda Jacobs. He said they have had
good feedback on the classes. He gave z~n update on the renovations of
Smallworld Park. and said the slab for th~~ basketball court has been poured. Rock
the Park will be held on May 24th at Candyland Park. He said Rock the Park
would be a different venue this year and Babe Ruth will run the concessions.
They wi'11 have a DJ located on the tennis courts. He stated this event was geared
toward teens.
Chair Shoemaker inquired if they would have the big. screen set up for music
videos.

~ Mr. Capizzi said it would not be dark until 8:00 or 8:30, but he would check on
whether it would be possible. He stated some advertising has already been done
for the event. He stated Family Movie Night would soon be starting again on
Thursday nights in the Community Builiiing. He reported National Night Out is
August 7~'.
Chair Shoemaker asked if there was a consensus regarding playing of a music
video during Rock the Park.
Member Putz said a movie would be great.
Mr. Capizzi said he would need to check: with the gentleman that handles the
movies in the Pazk.
Member Manor said they would need to be careful with the type of music.
Mr. Capizzi said it would be censored.
Chair Shoemaker said it would be hard to censor .MTV. She stated perhaps there
was something that would be mild and enjoyable that they could show.
Member Manor said this was a community event and they should be careful with
~ what they show.
Member Putz said he would not approve of some of the things he has seen.
Member Manor said if there would be elementary children attending they should
stay away from it. She stated teens would probably be socializing rather than
watching.
Mr. Capizzi reported they would start to plan National Night Out soon. At this
time, they are concentrating on Rock the Park and Summer Camp.
Chair Shoemaker inquired if they would be entering the contest for National
Night Out.
Mr. Capizzi said he would check with Ms. Meli regarding that matter.
Mr. Capizzi reported they were looking at a warehouse on Ronald Reagan
Boulevard to rent for the Haunted House. The owner has been out of the country
and should be back sometime this month, and they will know more at that time.
Chair Shoemaker advised that Physician Associates were moving from the
building behind the Hospital on West W~~rren Avenue. She suggested they may

want to check on that building since it is beside the Tennis Courts and Reiter
Park.
Mr. Capizzi reported they were considering starting a Bocci League.
Chair Shoemaker said Ms. Meli had mentioned they may consider night classes
for jazzercise.
Mr. Capizzi advised they were working on putting together a contract and may
consider some night classes.
1VIr. Putz inquired if Mr. Capizzi had he<<rd anything about a Farmer's Market. EIe
said Commissioner Anderson had mentioned it at several Commission meetings,
and suggested it could be held in the parking area across .from the Bradlee-
McIntyre House.
Mr. Capizzi said Ms. Meli had talked about a Farmer's Market and has contacted
some other municipalities concerning th~~ matter.
NIr. Putz asked Mr. Capizzi if he would check with the City Administrator
regarding the Farmer's Market.
Mr. Capizzi responded in the affirmative.
S. New Business. None.
6. Adyournment. Chair Shoemaker adjourned the meeting at 7:30 p.m.
