TO REMOVE THEREFRON~:, FILTH, DIRT, LEAVES, TRASH,
RUBBISH, UNDERGROWT'H,.UNDERBRUSH, EXCESSIVE
. GROWTH OF WEEDS, JUNK CARS, PARTS AND DEBRIS
AND OTHER OBNOXIOUS MATTER; PROVIDING FOR THE
ACQUISITION OF A LIEN AGAINST SAID PROPERTY BY
THE CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA, FOR THE REMOVAL

m SECTION l: Duty to keep free from filth, trash,

rubbish, weeds, et cetera - The owners, agents and occupants of

all lots and lands in the City shall at all times keep the same,

N SECTION 2: Inspection of premises; enforcement of

~ article - It shall be the duty of the sanitary inspectar, police

officers or other persons duly authorized by the City Council: to

~ inspect all lots and lands in. the corporate limits of the City and

W to notify and require the owners, agents or occupants thereof to
remove from such premises, anal the sidewalks adjacent thereto, any
and all weeds, trash, rubbish., filth or other noxious matter.
SECTION 3: Notice to cut and remove generally -
It shall be the duty of the sanitary inspector, police officers
and other persons from time to time duly authorized by the City
Council to notify all owners, agents and occupants of any lots or

lands within the corporate limits of the City, at such times as
may be required by sanitary regulations or considered necessary may.
for the safety and health of the people of the City, within five
(5) days after notice so given, to cut and remove all grass, weeds,
trash, rubbish, undergrowth, underbrush and other noxious matter,
filth-and debris therefrom.
SECTION 4: Notice to cut and remove where owner is

unknown - When the owner or argent of any unoccupied lot: is not

a section shall be posted on a conspicuous part of such property,

matter, charging and assessing the actual cost thereof against the
property, and the City in such case shall have and maintain a lien

all expense incurred in so cleaning the property and making same
sanitary and free from trash, weeds, rubbish or other obnoxious
matter.
SECTION 6: Keeping of junk cars, parts and debris
in residential areas prohibited - The keeping of junk cars, parts
and debris in residential areas is prohibited. For the purposes
of this Section, a junk car shall be defined as one which remains

in a non-operating. condition for a period of thirty (30) days.

a sions of Sections 3, 4, and S of this Ordinance. shall be applicabl

m SECTION.7: Penal. - Any person or persons, firm or

a corporation violating or failing to comply with the terms and

provisions specified herein, shall be, upon conviction and at the
discretion of the municipal court, fined a sum not to exceed
a
} TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00) or by imprisonment not exceeding

sixty (60) days, or both by fine and imprisonment. Each day
a
o that a violation is permitted. to exist shall constitute a separate

SECTION 8: Conflicts -All Ordinances or parts of

o Ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repeal-
z ed.

SECTION 9: Effective Date - This Ordinance shall
become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
