ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA,
CLOSING, VACATING AND AB,~NDONING THAT PORTION
OF I~ONGWOOD AVENUE LYING SOUTHWESTERLY OF THE
WES7.'ERLY EXTENSION OF THE SOUTHERLY BOUNDARY OF
BLO(:K 5 OF GLENROSE LEA.~3DDITION TO LONGWOOD,
ACCORDING TO PLAT BOOK 4, PAGE 53 OF THE PUBLIC
RECORDS OF SEMINOLE COUNTY, FLORIDA, LYING WITH-
IN 7'HE CITY LIMITS OF LOiVGW00D, FLORIDA.
WHEF;EAS, a Petition was filed with the City Council of
the City of Longwood, Florida, to close, vacate and abandon certain
platted but unopened streets within the City Limits of the. Gity of
Longwood, Florida, to-wit:

That: portion of Longwood Avenue lying Southwesterly
of the Westerly extension of the Southerly boundary
of Block 5 of GLENROSE LEA ADDITTON TO LONGWOOD, ac-
cording to Plat Book 4, Page 53 of the Public Rec-
ords of Seminole County, Florida.
and
WHEREAS, a Notice of public hearing before the City Coun-
cil of the Ci1~y of Longwood; Florida, on the 5th day of December,
A. p., 1969, was published in The Sanford Herald, a newspaper of
general circu:l.ation in Seminole County, Florida, one (1) time
fifteen (15) days prior to the. date stated therein for such hear-

ing, and said Notice was further published by posting same in
three (3) pub:tic places within the corporate limits of the City of
Longwood, Florida, for a period of fifteen (15) days prior to the
date stated therein for such hearing; and
WHEREAS, no one appeared. before the City Council in op-
position to the same, and the City Council finding that the
closing, vacating and abandoning o~f said portion of said street
will not have a detrimental effect: to the surrounding property
areas or to the City or the public:,
NOW, THEREFORE., BE IT EN~~CTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the :Following described platted but
unopened street within the. City Limits of the City of Longwood,
Florida, to-wi:t:
That: portion of .Longwood Avenue lying Southwesterly
of the Westerly extension of the Southerly boundary

be and the same is hereby closed, -Jacated and abandoned as of this
date and the City Council renounces any rights in the said street
as abandoned,
SECTION 2: That all~~rdinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3: This Ordinance shall take effect immediate-
ly upon its final passage and adoption.
SECTION 4: If any section or portion of a section of
this Ordinance. proves to be invalid, unlawful or unconstitutional.,
it shall not be held to invalidate. or impair the validity, force
or effect of any other section or part of this Ordinance.
