Ordinance 07-1838 ORDINANCE 1v0.07-1838 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA, DETERMINING TIIE AMOUN'C OF AND Ii'IXING THE RATE OF AD VALOREM TAXA'T'ION AND MAKING THE ANNUAL TAX LEVY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING OCTOBER 1, 2007 AND ENDING SEPTEMBEll2 30, 2008, PROVIDING I?'OR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILI:TY AND ~;FFECTIVE DATE. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAI:i~IED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF I~ONGWOOD FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1; That the amount determined by the budget as necessary to be raised by ad valorem taxation in the City of Longwood, Florida, for the operation and expenses for the administ~~ation of the affairs of the City is the sum of $5,790,058. SECTION 2: That the millage for the Fiscal Year 2007/2008 is fixed at 4.99 mills which is .an increase old 10.95 per cent over the current year rolled back rate of 4.4974 as computed in accordance with F.S. 2(10.065. SECTION 3: That there shall be levied and collected by the City of Longwood, Florida, for the ]Fiscal Year commending October 1, 2007 and ending September 30, 2008 upon all NON-:EXEMPT TAXABLE PROPERTY within the corporate limits of said City, a tax of 4.99 mills on each dollar of iron-exempt appraised value for the purpose of realizing a sum sufficient to fund the budget and meet and defray the necessary operating expenses of said City for the ensuing Fiscal Ye+ar. SEC"TION 4: That the gross taxable value for operating purposes not exempt from taxation within the City of Longwood has been certified by the Seminole County Property Appraiser to the City of Longwood a~. $1,221,402,280. SECTION 5: That all ordinances, or parts of ordinances, in conflict herewith, be, and the same a.re hereby repealed. Ordinance No. C17-1838 Page 2 SECTION 5: If any section, sentence; clause or phrase of this ordinance is held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, the holding shall in no way affect the validity of the remaining ;po>-~cions of this ordinance. SECTION 6: This Ordinance shall' become effective on October 1, 2007.
