1. The meeting was called to order by Mrs. Sober at ]:35 P.M

to approve the iAi nut es of April 20, 1988. Motion carried by a unanimous
vo ice vote.
Mrs. Suber asked that Agenda Rein No. 4 be placed ahead of Agenda Item tYO. 3.

4. Public Hearing: Variance - Ansel mo God inho. Request to build a three
bedroom add'i tion 21 feet from the front property line rather than 30 feet.

Motion by Mrs. 5homate, s conded by Nrs. Mc Li n, that the variance as requested
by Mr. Godi nho be granted. Piotion carried by a una of moos roll call vote.
3. Public Hearing: Variance - Ramar Mfg. Co. of Fla. Request to have a five
foot setback in the r n lieu of the required 15 foot setback. Location:
Part of the Atlantic toast Line Railroad ROW - east side of S. Llilma Street.

Suber asked if anyone present would like to speak for the variance. Mr. Colin
Burgess, president of Ramar, spoke in favor of the va e stating the property

Mr. Tam Bi nford asked to be sw n by the cou~t reporter. Mr. Binfordn sta ted

Mr. 8i nford read excerpts from co respondence between LecllcMOo re/Tan Bi nford
and Lol in Burgess rega rd i n9 a ment to the Bi nford property. Ne stated
they tried to negotiate with MredBUrgess also in n effort to trade land in
order to bri n9 both properties up to code so either property would require
e, but the negotiations had tailed. nMr. Bi nford quoted Mr. Na91 e's

Mrs. Sober passed the gavel to Mrs. 5hoinate and made a motion to deny the
arlance
as qra nting the va could not be in compliance with City code,
Motion failed for the lack ofaac second.
Motion by Mrs. Shomate to grant [he va rsan~e as requested. Motion died for
the lack of a second.
Mr. Kramer stated based on the quorum of three and the rules and procedures
adapted by the Board of Adjustment, it appeared the is nu ld not be

asked that the question posed by Mr. Rai hl be re rc hed by staff and that
the Fire Marshal comment on the variance as requested.
Motion by Pirs. McLi n, s co nded by Mrs. Shomate, that [he public hearing be
tabled until June 15, 1988. Motion car rietl by a una of moos roll call vote.
