The meeting wa called to order at I:35 PM by Mrs. Shqma te, Vice Lhairma n, in or. Pearl's absence. 2. APProval of Minutes of April 1, 1985 meeti n9: Motion by Mr. Korb, s conded by Mr. Lewis, to approve the Minutes of the April 1, 1985 meeting as written. Motion carried by a unanimous voice vote. 3. Mr. Bishop, stated he w s the applicant, and stated he wished iq c nstru ct a 12,000 sq. ft. buildi n9, b,000a sq.ft. of which would be display area and 4,008 sq.ft, which would be used to store add iti gnat merchandise. He explained that by ordinance he is required 60 spaces based on the total square foq tage of the bu it dim, but due to the nature of his business, office furniture sales, that he did not need the amount of spaces required. He stated a mil ar business of his in Orlando with 12,000 sq.ft. only has 8 par ki nq spaces which~is adequate for this type of business. Ne stated Chat very seldom did he ever have 8 to 10 customers at one time. Ne stated that based o the type Pf business and the ne si ty of all the Dar king required, he would prefern to only put in 50 spaces and preserve s of the large trees o the Droperty. Mr. Lewis asked if the required niunber of spaces could be allotted if the trees wee taken down and Mr. Ri shop said he thought 60 or very close to 6D. Mr. Bishop statedr he felt that the trees ar imDOrta nt to the site aesthetically as well as functionally. Mrs. Shama to stated the Board had ved let s fran Mr. and Mrs. Dowling and Mr. Charles Jordan stating they were ~ncfa vor of the request. Mrs. Shqmate asked if there was anyone present who wished to speak against the request. Mr. Russell stated he lived in the r si tlential a the sf to and ob$ected to the site being developed co tally. Mrs. ShOma ter s to ted rthe site was properly zoned for the can cial development. Mr. Russell asked if a wall would be put around the site on themar a which abutted residential. Mr. Bishop stated he would prefer to use hed9 i ng ra there than a wall but he would abide by whatever the City would required. Mr. Bryant stated Che City required a 10' wide landscape buffer, flD% opaque. Mr. Russell stated he did not care for the wall on the adjoining cgmnercial property. Motion by Mr. Korb, s conded ny Mr. Cable, to approve the Variance and Special Exception for a pay Care Lentereat 140 Vlayman Street, requested by Magaly Nogueiras.
