1. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman McCoy called the meming tv order at'/.10 p.m.

Chairman McCoy suggested wmbining a couple of events, for instance, like with the
Easter Egg Hunt, perhaps holding a couple, thru events and tying them into [he same
tMng. noting that the Founder s Day Celebration recently wem by the wayside He
thought the board might be able to get uch with so a ofthe bus es.. promote a
parade and have some events et Ote ballpark later ov in the evening, havesa day of it. May
not want to limit it to just the children; might want to include the adults.
Member Brockon reminded that this board is about Parks and Recreation.
Chairman McCoy continued saying they could also get involved with the rest ofthe people
in the Ci[y end the rust ofthe boards, could do it jointly. He said he thought it was pert
o[the board's responsibiliry to Ket the people in the City involved.
Member Anderson said he did not have a problem with getting people involved,howevu
because the Board has been kind of non existom for so long and they ware working on
trying to get it back up to standard, chat he believed it would be a good idea down the

cortecaons as noted. Seconded by Member Anderson and carried by a unanimous vote.

Mr Zeppitello, reintroduced Trary Crowe from Land Design Innovations, explaining she would

Ms. Crowe said the first thing veeded is the date that we need to have this questionnaire r~tu~~d-

Member McCoy asked Mr. Zeppitello when he nceded to have the survey returned. Discussion
ensued regarding the return date.
Manbar Breokan reminded that the residents oNy receive their utility bills on the 301h ofthe

back with the utility payment, and also suggesmd sending them on colored paper so they stand

Member Anderson reminded that the Board had dixussed sending a postage paid carom
envelope with the survey.
Mr. Zappitello said they were still looking into that and tryivg to figure out ofwhose budget it
would come.
Member McCoy questioned whether the last quenion should say "New smaller "walk-to" Parks
atM "New. IargdCottununity Parks'. Could it be rewordal so as not to make it Zook like we want
new parks?
Member Anderson suggested striking the word "new oo both of those boxes and thought that
would uke care of it.
Member Meale wovdered about tha quastioR "DO you participate in any ofthe following
programs, and where, (including outside the Ciry)?,' asking why we would ba curious about
outside the City.
Mr. Zappitello said we want to know where they are going to get recreation that we don't offer.
3. NEW BUSINESS
Mr. Zappitello said the Bike Rodeo will be held on Augur 26th instead ofthe 19th. The owners
oftha Bikv Shop are hereto go over what wa went to do iv the two hour time span that we have
and what they might have available for us. The Seminole Sheriff's Department will protdde the
same layout they had for the Christmaz avwt, including the motorized thivga The Longwood
Police Department and the Longwood Helmet Safety group will participate.
The owners ofthe Bike Shop said they have four riders that can perform, end will need some flat
land.
Mr. Zappitello asked ifthey mould meet with him one day during the week to figure outjust where
they thought it would be ben to hold the Bike Show.
Two ofthe four riders that are coming have competed professionally, all hat/ competed N other
Rodeos as well. Also would Tike some boxes so they have a highjump in the air.
Mr. Zappitello said bike inspections will be done between ten end ten thirty, then there will be a
show for foray m s, the helmet safety inspect/ and then another show. He said he will have
Flyers for all to passtout. He will get approval to have ttrtain roads closed off There will be no
ain date. The owners of the Bike Shop will bong stickers for the kids,and Crztorade will be
provided for the kids.
