t. CALL TO ORDER
Chair O'Keefe called the meeting to order at ]:00 p.m.
2. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
Chair O' Keefe introducetl Mrs. Sheree Murphy who came to the meeting to
speak about National Night Out.
3. OLD BUSINESS
A. Approve June 4, 2002 minutes.
MSC (AndersoNHOlt) to approve the June 4, 2002, Minutes passed 6-0-1
with Member Gilmore absent.
B. Coordinator's Report
Ms. Walsh introtlucetl JoAnne Rebello newty appoin[etl member to the
Board and asked her to report about National Night Out which has been
scheduled for August 6, 2002, antl how the Board might help.

Member Rebello proceeded to relate how last year's National Night Out was
a great success. She then asketl Ms. Murphy to tell what they did last year
[o make i[ a success.
Ms. Murphy said they had to get volunteers, donations from local
erchan[s, who were more than willing to donate, and hope they would do
it again this year. Also the citizens who want to volunteer and tlonate be
asketl to just bring dessert. This year they would like to walk around 5
blocks to show neighborhood solitladty, ask channel 13 news to mention
vent and ask the Sheriffs department if they could bring the Armored
Tank.
Ms. Murphy also spoke to Director Baker and he has 2large tents antl
mall tents they coultl use. He also said theta would be no problem
setfmg up the P.A. System, a stag¢ and portable lights. In atldition a
$1,000.00 donation from the Confiscation Fund has been approvetl by the
Commission.
Vice Chair Hol[ quesdonetl whether this was to be an annual event. Ms.
Walsh told him yes it wouitl be, antl it would be voluntary for anyone on the
Boartl that wanted to help.
Ms. Walsh suggested it start at 6:00 p.m. and end by 8:00 p.m.
Ms. Walsh thought ail volunteers shoultl meet at Cantlylantl Park by 5:00
p.m.
Chair O'Keefe informed all members [hat the Board's August 6~" meetin~
s changetl to August'/, due to National Night Out, the September 3`
meeting changed to September 4'", because of Labor Day Holitlay antl the
November 5~" changed to November 6~ because of state witle generzl
elections.
4. NEW BUSINESS
Ms. Walsh informed all the Bike Rotleo would De Saturday, September 21,
2002. It will be in front of City HaII. The time is 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
