1, CALL TO ORDER.
Mr. Holt called the meeting to ortler at ]:O6 p.m.

2. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION.
Mr. Holt asketl Mrs. Tolos if she wished to speak.
Mrs. Tolos slated she would rather wail until the Boartl tliscussed the
Christmas event.
3. OLD BUSINESS.
A. Approval of Minutes.
Ms. Rebello movetl to approve the July 8, 2003 minutes as amentletl antl
the August 6, 2003 minutes showing the July minutes amentletl.
Secondetl by Ms. PHUg. Motion carried by a unanimous voice call vote.

Mr. Sizemore inlroducatl Mr_ Pat Miller, Interim Community Services
Director.
Mr. Sizemore invited all to view a post project for "National Night Out". He
saitl before leaving Ms. Walsh entered the Clty in a competition with
National Association of Town Watch for towns of tifieen thousand or less.
Mr. Sizemore tliscussetl a survey that was sent out to seniors to inquire
whether [hey were'mterestetl in having a Senior Center. He stated i[ was
sent out to resitlents sixty years and older. He reportetl that approximately
15% of the surveys have been returned and he woultl be sentling out a
second mailing to try and get mare responses.
Ms. Rebello asketl what sorts of questions were asketl on the survey.
Mr. Sizemore statetl he antl the City Atlministrator hatl put together a list
of things seniors might like to see implementetl antl how many times a
week they woultl participate.
Mr. Sizemore mentionetl The Arts and Craits Festival in November woultl
be on the September 8, 2003 City Commission Agenda for approval o(Ihe
permits.
Discussion ensued about the softball season continuing on because of the
ainy season. Hopefully the season will be over'in a wuple of weeks antl
they can Ihen vote on a managers meeting (or next season.
plscussion was heltl on the status of the "Y" events antl how they were
hantlletl.
Mr. Sizemore saitl there hatl been a problem with some skate boartlers in
Santllewootl Park. On the recommendation of the City Administrator, he
oolong into installing small scale skate boarding equipment in the park.
He statetl it is just in the planning stages, but they are trying to see what
they can come up with.
Ms. Rebello asked If this equipment will ba in atltlition io the skate board
equipment going in over at Reiter Park.
Mr. Sizemore statetl he thought this would be in atldition to that
equipment He reiterated this was only in the planning stage.
Mr. Sizemore stated at the last meeting he was asked to speak to some
retllo stations about "Rock the PaM' event He stated he got in touch with

Mission Skate Park antl asked a representative to put something together.
He statetl he wantetl to set up the basics for the new coordinator who will
be here by the next meeting.
Mr. Holt asketl if the citizens of Longwootl woultl be able to make use of
the ramps that the skate park would be setting up.
Mr. Sizemore stated that was not what he was asketl to arrange.. it woultl
probably just be a demonstration.
Ms. Rebello statetl ifi October 4. 2003 was still the tlate for the
tlemonstrafion it would not leave much time. She suggestetl since there
woultl not be another meeting before the event that perhaps another
meeting should be held-
Diswssion was held regarding holding a Work Session.
Ms. Rebello movetl to holtl a Work Session on September 30. 2003
at ]:00 p. m. Sewndetl by Ms. Pflug. Motion passed 4-0-3 with
Members Gilmore, Daugherty and Putz absent.
Ms. Rebello asketl when the Fel[ Festival woultl ba_ She also inqurtetl
when the 125" Anniversary of Longwootl would occur.
Mr. Miller statetl he woultl find out antl report back at the work session on
September 30, 2003.
4. NEW BUSINESS.
Ms. Rebello suggested making up a list of events that the boartl handles
tluring the year. She stated it might help to tlecide where to put certain
events.
Mr. Holt asked Ms. Tolos if she woultl like to speak.
Ms. Tolos statetl Ms. Walsh asketl her if she woultl like to come to this
eeting and relate to the boartl a list of fooQ prizes, antl Christmas trees
that she ran acquire free of charge. She also asked the Boartl to atltl to
or change the amount of items she hatl already listetl.
Ms. Pflug gave the secretary a copy of Ms. Toros Ilst from last year to
wpy for the boartl members.
Mr. Holt asketl Commissioner Maingot if he had any comments.
