L Call to Order. Chair Rebello caller the meeting to order at ]Wpm.
2. Approval of Minnms April 6, 2o04 Regular Meeting.
Member Meng noted that Mr. Miller's name was omitted from those present.
Vire Chair Shoemaker moved to approve the Minutes of April b, 2003

3. Public Participation.
Mr. Guy Wells, 103 East Church Avenoe, said he has talked with several people
and bus s tbroughout the city reKarding a July Ath Cxlebmlion. He gave
endati ns for a July 4 Celebration. He suggested a series of bike
such as multi-spell bikes, ladies bike nice, an antique single speed bike
sand a bike race for cFildren by age groups. He said he would like to see the
July 4u Celebmtlon es a public evens everyone in the community oould partioipare
in. FIe advised Winn Dime has agreed to donate sodas for the event.

Ms. Mali introduced Amy Stevenson, Community Services Coordinator
Ms. Mali reposed the Hlue Grass at Lyman High School this past month
s. She advised blue Crass would be held at Lyman High
School on<Sune 19'^. She said they were working on this event as a family
fun afternoon with Blue Grass. She advised Hlue Grass would be back in
the Community Building this month. The city paid FOra ho[dog vendor a~
the last Hlue Grosz
Ms. Mali reposed the frst Senior Matinee was held on the 21 °.'fhey will
be holding this event every third Wednesday ofthe momh. She reposed
welve people wme and enjoyed loath while watching Casablanca. The
city served popcorn and beverages. She reposed Seniorcise was

bosom ofthe utility bills to announce events. She advised they have
oontected all tha assisted living facilities wncerning events for seniors.

Ms. Mali said they would cover as many ways of advertising as possible.
Ms. Mali reposed the coed soFlball league had Ilvee weeks left to play.
She advised the summer league will start soon after. She repotted there is
an employee summer golf league

Ms Meli reported the upcoming events for this month were Blue Grass on
the 15'" end the Senior Matinee on the 19'" featuring "Same Like R Hot".
She reported We Uay Camp was nearly ful I. They have hired one camp
direrXOr, raven senior wunselors and 5 junior counselors. She repotted the
Day Camp Director is the ghl's basketball coach Rom Lake Mary High
School.
Ms Mali reported the following park updetez
• Equipment for Magnolia Park should be <omplned this week.
• Candyland new baseball felds and T-ball fields have been staned.
• Babe Ruth hadthc installation ofan irrigation system donated and
grading of the f elds at Candyland Park.

Ms Meli repotted chore is a kitchen area in the Community Room at the
new fire Station, but there will not be a stove.
Ms. Mali advised the board had previous'ty discussed holding Rock the

Ms. Mali handed out espies ofthe 2001 Master Park Plan. She advised
this document was subject to change. She supplied information fiom the

Chair Rebello said they have heard fiom Mr. Wells in regards to a July 4'"
Celebration. She asked if this was something the members would like to see.

It was the consensus ofthe board to hold the event on Saturday. July 1, 2004.
Chair Rebello inquired if tho board would need to oak the City Commission for
approval.
