The recortling secretary openetl the floor for nominations of chairman. Member POug nominatetl JoAnne Rebello. Hearing no other nominations the nominations were closed. Member Rebello was elected Mairman by a unanimous roll call vote with Member Gilmore absent. The recortling secretary turned the meeting over to Chairman Rebello. B. Vice Chairman. Chairman Rebello openetl the 9oor for nominations of Uce Chairman. Member VOrty nominated Member Pflug. Member Pflug declinetl the nomination. Member Pflug nominatetl Member Vorty. P8R 11-5-200311 Member VOrty declined the nomination. Member Pflug nominated Member Daugherty. Member Daugherty declined the nomination. Member Pflug nominated Member Gilmore. Member Gilmore was elected Vice Chairman by a unanimous roll wll vote with Member G~Imore absent. 4. Approval of Minutes: Work Session of September 30, 2003 Regular Meeting of October ], 2003 Member Pfug moved to approve the Minuses of the Work Session o(September 30, 2003. Second by Member Yady and passed by a unanimous voice vote with Member Gilmore absent. Member POUg moved to approve the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 7, 2003. Second by Member Yorty and tried by a unanimous voiw vote with Member Glimore absent. 5. Public Participation. None. Chris Schmidt, Community Services Coordinator was introduced. 6. Old Business. A. Update-125w Anniversary. Mr. Leventhal reviewed the schedule of events For the 125" Anniversary and Blue Grass Pickins'. He stated that coins with the logo would be given to the first 175 people. Member Pflug requested walking tour maps be handed out to those attending. A digital video presentation on the history of Longwood was reviewed. This presentation was orchestrated by Member Pflug. Discussion was held regarding costume dress. Discussion was held regarding carriage rides. P8R 11-5-2003/2 Mr. Leventhal reported the event was within butlgei B. Update-Celebrate the Seasons. Mr Leventhal reviewed the Ilst of performers antl times they ar schetlulatl to perform. He recommentled a stage be construged for the performers that woultl be level with the porch in front of City Hall. He statetl that a sountl system would be rented at a minimal cost. Discussion was heltl regartling the stage. Discussion was held regarding sponsorships antl donations. Mr. Leventhal stated hat the trees tree stantls. antl port lets are being donatetl by various wmpanies. He statetl the major expense as for the snow tent antl stage. He affirmed that other various items re being tlonated. He announced that the flier for Celebrate the Seasons was posted on the Gty web site. He statetl they woultl also be distributing notification in tha wafer bills. Discussion ensued regarding the snow tent. Discussion was heltl regartling placement of food sales. Mr. Leventhal statetl he woultl meet with staff antl go over the site plan. It was the consensus of the boartl to hold a special meeting on Tuestlay, November 18, 2003 at 7:00 p. m. to fnalize the plans for Celebrate the Season. 7. New Busin¢ss. A. Senior Program Proposal. Mr. Leventhal reviewetl a Flier for Seniorcise. He statetl that his Gass woultl be held twice a week starting December 2, 2003 on Tuesday antl Thurstlay mornings. He advisetl that the first month would be free and after that the cost would be $3.00 per class or $20 00 per month. He statetl he would be going to the Tourist Club to tliscuss senior trips. Mr. Leventhal tlisiributed a draft proposal entitled "Wellness Works for Life". He asked members to review antl be praparetl to tliscuss this at the neA regular advisory boartl meeting. Diswssion was heltl regarding facilities for seniors P8R 11-5-2 0 0 313 Member Pflug statetl that some resitlents, such as assistetl living or sing homes, do not receive water bills. She suggested these areas berno[ifietl by some other means. Mr. Leventhal stated he would check into another means of notrfiwtion. Chair Rebello asked if there were any wmments on improving the fall festival. Mr. Leventhal slatetl there has been positive feetlback regartling the eni.
