Ms. Kane read the thank you letter that was prepared for all of the donors for the 1997 dog show. Letters will be typed and mailed out this week by the recording secretary. The 1997 Fun Dog Show was a great success and had a wonderful turn out of people and their dogs. There was approximately 74 dogs at the show and their owners who all had a joyous time. The board discussed ways of shading the areas next year for the jttdges who had to sit in the hot sun for a few hours. A suggestion was made by Ms. Harden to get a canopy donated and have the judges sit under there next year out of the sun. Even though the dog show was a great success the one category that Ms. Kane suggested to eliminate next year was the "dog that can't do anything". The board agreed to eliminate this in the upcoming year also. The board briefly discussed the Christmas tree lighting ceremony they have every year in December. It will be an December b, 1997 this year and Ms. Lomax has the choirs already set up to perform. The board mentioned that a special meeting may have to be called on November 25, 199'7 to further plan the Christmas tree lighting ceremony. A warm welcome to our newest hoard member, Donna Lee Harden. The discussion ended at 8:00 p.m.
