1. CALL TO ORDER
Ms. Kane called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
2. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
There was no public participation.
3. DIRECTOR'S REPORT
Ms. Lomax read the thank you letter we received from the Humane Society aloud.
Approximately $204.00 dollars was collected for the Humane Society at the 1997 Fun Dog Show
and was greatly appreciated.
4. flLD BUSINESS
Due to a lack of quorum of our original board members, the August minutes could not be
approved.
5. NEW BUSINES5
A. Tree Lighting Ceremony
The annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held on Saturday December 6, 1997 from x:00 p.m.
to b:00 p.m. at the corner of Warren and Wilma in Downtown Longwood. Ms. Lomax has the
choirs set up and a Santa Clause Suit for the ceremony. Mr. Harris was volunteered by the board
to be Santa Clause this year. Ms. Kane suggested we try to get some candy kanes donated if
possible and Ms. Kane is also in charge of getting a Christmas Tree donated this year. Face
painters will be at the ceremony along with the bake sale ran by the girl scouts. Leeanne from girl
scouts passed around the Christmas ornaments that the troops will be making and donating to the
city for the tree. The board discussed which parts of the streets will need to barricaded off. They
decided on ail of Wilma up to Warren and part of Warren starting at 3:30 p.m. ending at 6:30
p.m, The board also discussed the option of having food at the ceremony such as hot dogs and
sodas. Ms. Breckon recommended offering the thrift shop the opportunity to sell the hot dogs
and sodas to raise money for the needy.
A motion was called by Ms. Kane to have a special meeting held on Tuesday November 25, 1997
at '7:00 p.m. The motion was seconded by Ms. Shemoski.
Ms. Kane motioned to have the meeting adjourned at '7:55 p.m. and seconded by Mr. Harris.
