BOARD MEETING MINUTES
AUGUST 22, 1995
PRESENT: Robert Wons, Chairman

1. CALL TO ORDER:
Mr. Wons called the meeting to order at 7:08 p.m.
2_ PUBLIC PARTICIPATION:
There was no public participation.
3. NEW BUSINESS:
Mr. Wons wants to contact Ms. Cherner concerning her two
consecutive unexcused absences. In accordance with the bi-laws Ms.
Cherner has automatically resigned because of her absences. It was
the consensus of the board to send Ms. Cherner a thank you letter
and to advise the commission so that a replacement can be found as
quickly as possible.
Ms. Lomax discussed the upcoming dog show. She presented the board
with some of the prizes for the contestants of the show. The
judges for the show were discussed.
Motion by Ms. Huttner to approve the following judges for the
show Simone Askew, Eva Neisler, and Kathleen Dutcher. Seconded
by Ms. Latimer. Motion passed unanimously.
Ms. Lomax brought before the board a "Hold Harmless" agreement for
the Ed Myers Recreation Building, it was accepted by all. The Fun
Dog Show flyer was discussed. It was mentioned by Ms. Lomax that
the category of "look alike" was missing, the category was adopted
by the board. Ms. Lomax and the board then discussed sending out
notification of the dog show. The members of the board discussed
where they could give out and post flyers making sure they canvased
the entire community, and then some.
Mr. Wons then presented to the board a few donations he received
from the community for the dog show. The donated items were Dog
chews from Longwood Shoe Repair, and a check for $25.00 from
Supreme.
Ms. Lomax stated that some people requested that a program be given
out at the dog show. The order of events was decided on with
consideration given to the dogs and their owners. The awards would
be given out after each category.
Ms. Huttner volunteered to provide gatorade and cookies. The
different members of the board finalized a lot of the small
detailed items for the dog show. Ms. Huttner wanted to check with
a couple of businesses to see if she could get a few more items
donated for prizes at the show.
The next meeting was set for September 5, 1995 at 7:00 p.m. and a
special meeting to be held September 19, 1995 at 7:00 p.m.
OLD BUSINESS.
There was no old business to discuss.
DIRECTORS REPORT.
Ms. Lomax stated that she was looking at some property at Rangeline
and Church Street as a future site for another recreation building.
ADJOURN
Motion was made by Ms. Huttner and seconded by Ms. Latimer to
adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
