PR 07-23-90 MinPARKS/RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD JULY 23, 1990 PRESENT: BRET SEGREST-CHAIRMAN CURT FEYERHERP? BILL GOEBEL, PARKS/RECREATION DIRECTOR ABSENT: KAY GAMBLE GARY PARKER 1. Due to a lack of a quorum an official meeting was not called to order. Mr. Feyerherm was introduced to all present. 2. Mr. Goebel went over the changes to the proposed 90/91 Budget; The greenhouse and the part-time recreation supervisor has been eliminated-from the budget for this year. Babe Ruth Baseball will start the new season on 9/8/9'0.. Mr. Gamble has resigned as president with Mr. Palumbo being the interim president until the November elections. Work is being done on Reiter Park; the ball field is being turned, sprinkler systems installed and new fencing is being erected (same fence that is used at Candyland). No permanent signs will be allowed on the fencing at Reiter or Candyland. Mr. Goebel would not have a problem with signs as long as they used canvas banners affixed with vinyl rope. The attorney representing Babe Ruth Baseball is currently reviewing the concession contract between the City and Babe Ruth. The City will receive a percentage of all sales (food and merchandise). Mr. Segrest inquired about finishing the fencing around Arbor Park. Mr. Goebel said that is scheduled for a fall project. Mr. Segrest requested that Mr. Goebel check on the tree limbs that hang over the street, some are obstucting the visibility. Mr. Goebel offered to give Mr. Feyerherm a tour of the City parks. 3. The next Parks/Recreation Advisory Board. meeting will be held on 8/14/90.
