Mr. Fall explained that in June, the 6oazd of Cowty Commissiotrers eslabhshed
Community Redevelopment Ageney (CRA) Por the pmpose of preparing a
Redevelopment Plan. 'PM main purpose ol'the Plan is to improve the economic

Mr_ Fell also explained that the project may be funded U several ways. The method

Mr. Bullington asked iF the Ciry will have any input on the proposed plan for the
corridor in this area. Mr. Fdl explaind that the Boazd of County Commissioners is
the interim CRA, but that upon adoption oP the implementing ordnance, each

Mr. Lins' major concern is miying something without knowing what is being bought.
Mr. Fell explained that the Board hes spent about $150,000 studying the cortidor.
However, it was not enough to do a thorough analysis ofthe improvorttents iueded

Mr. Bullington asked about the composition and purpose of the CRA. Mr. Fall
responded there will be seven representatives, including one from each participating

the public.

Mr. Lins asked about the timefiame for completion of the final redevelopment plan
Mr. Fall responded that the staff and the cotssulmnts are trying to get the frml plan

Mr. Goslme explained that the next presentation u' from ibe East Central Fbrida

Mr. Goslame proceeded in introducing Greg Golgowski and 6arbara Holkrund fiom
the F.CFRI'C. Mr. 6osiine alm exPlaawd that Ibe Evaluation and Appraisal Report
will come back to the Land Planning Agency um May 1998.
Mr. GolSOwski stated his game far the record Fte proce dad to say that the
Evaluation Report is d'vectd at the Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan

The Comprehensive Plan was adopted a few years ago. The state law requires the
City to revisit dme Plan through an evaluation appraisal report to sec what commditiors
lave changed 'Hre report will also state whether the City has achieved the goals and
objectives of the Comprelmemsive Plan.
Mr. Goigowski proceeded to discuss the Evaluation and Appraiwl Report Schdule

Division in orgaNzing end pubtic'ving twee community meetings at Longwood

30, I99], to give the citizem the opponuniry to comment on what they veasured

The ECFRPC staff also comacted Lyman High School about conducting a fourth
meeting of student orknted mssions. The school stag was rcWttant to allow the
students to emu an hour-and-a-half or two hours necessary to conduct the meeting.

Gosline stated any recommendation the LPA may have for teclnuques to increase
public involvement in the EAR proc xs will be welcomed. After some discussion, it
