Z. Approval of Minutes: Mr. Linton asked that the Minutes of Auguse 12, 198]
be corrected to shown Mr. Robert Narmond present. Mr. BUll ington asked that

Motion by Mr. BUll ington s conded by Ptr. Haynie, to approve the Minutes of
August 12, 198] as corrected. Motion carried by a unanimous roll call vote.
3. Londi tional Use -Applicant: Family life Christian Assembly (Rev. Lhuck
Gregory.) Request to conduct church se a C-3 zoning district. Location
Suite 101, 1211 LR 42). Longwood Lonmercial eCenter.
Mr. Bvllington asked if the applicant was present. Itr. Edmunds statetl he was the
r of the property but tyre appl ice nY was not present. Mr. Edmunds stated he
halos ubmi tted a letter to the City specifying exact number of pa rkinq spaces
allocated to the church du ri n9 specified times and statetl if the Conditional Use
s permitted he would make the lease conditioned upon the allocated parking an0
times and would terminate the lease if pa rki n9 became a problem in order tq
protect his Lena nts and future tenants. Mr. Bvl li nyton questioned the length of
time the church would c sitl er operating from this location well a of

had had his leasing agent handle it. He further stated that the applicant would
only be given a ne year lease with option [o renew provided there are no
perking problems.
Motion by fir. Bul l ington, seconded by Mr. Thompsen to recommend to the City
Commission approval of the conditional a request that will allow the Family
Life Christian Assembly church to occupy sthe 1200 square feet of space at
Suite 101, Longwood Commercial Center subject to the conditional use beiny
9ra ntetl for a period ofi one year from the date of approval and also subject to
all safety requirements of the Southern Standard 8uildi ny Code and City codes
for this type of occupancy being met to include pa rki n9 availability, and if
any t safety requt rcments a iolated, the contli ti onal a may be r inded

Mr. Beaver asked if he could co lent. Mr. Heaver stated re9a rdi ng Item 10,.

the option of c ing i at site pl en and working out alternative buffers, perhaps

13, 14, 15, lE, lZ, and 18 andeai so 18. Mr. Beaver sta tetl he had no problem
with any of the Conditional Use co ments with [he exception of Item 10. Mr.
Nagle stated he would advise the applicant of legal cou nsei 's opinion as to
whether item 10, could be considered at site plan.
Mr. Linton passed the gavel Co Mr. Haynie and made a motion to re lend to
C1 ty Commission that the Gondi tional Use request be 9ra nted subject to
es granted by the Board pf Atlj ustnlent and subject to Mr. Nagl e's letter
ofrAugvst 21, i98Z, items 4, 5, l3, 14, 15, 16, 1], 18, and item 10, if so
xnended by the Li ty Attorney. tlotion seconded by Mr. Hammond. Mr.
Bvl li ngton asked that the motion be amended to include that the re entrance
onto Ridge Road be used for emergency access only and that it be chained.
Mr. Linton amended his mo t'ion to include Plr. Bull ington's suggestion. Mr.
Hammond amended his second to include same. Motion as amended carried by a
unanimous roll call vote.
