FOR ; . CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND AN EFFECTIVE :DATE. __ WHEREAS, Longwood businesses. and restaurants that sell or serve alcoholic beverages experience an economic disadvantage relative to hours permitted to sell or serve alcoholic beverages compared to the County and neighboring cities; and . . WHEREAS, the City Commission recognizes the economic disadvantage .experienced Eby Longwood businesses.- and restaurants: that sell or serve alcoholic beverages compared to the County and neighboring cities; and WHEREAS,_ the City Commission deems it appropriate to change the hours permitted to sell or serve alcoholic beverages in order:-for the Longwood'businesses and restaurants ° to compete equally with businesses and restaurants in the .County and neighboring cities. NOW, .THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY CONIlYIISSION OF THE CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: . .. 'SECTION I. That 'Chapter 6' section 6-3(a) entitled hours of business be amended as follows: _- -- - Section 6-3. Hours-of Business (a) It shall be I lawful for any intoxicating or alcoholic beverages as s may be defined from time to time by the laws of the state including liquor; wine and beer to be sold or consumed upon the premises; or served or permitted to be'served or consumed on or at the place of service; or having been sold, served or'allotived to be consumed, be allowed to remain open in readiness .for consumption on or at the premises where. the sale or service occurred, within the territorial limits of the city between -the hours_ of _ `' '~--a~e~c~r-S~da3L~d~ ~ ~1-~~-~z-~~r-S~d~-,-~a~d TdE0~5-e~ti~~z~~~r~-e~Er-d~~J 7:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. eastern time seven days a weel~. SECTION II. That, in the event it is detei7nined by the City Commission ,..-~ that a change to the Hours of Business is warranted; the change will be accomplished by Ordinance adopted by the Longwood City Commission. SECTION- III. CONFLICTS. That, all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict hereurith are repealed. ~ ~ -` - SECTION IV.
