A RESOLUTION OF THE. CITY OF LONGWOOD,
FLORIDA, RELATING TO ADOPTION OF THE
SEMINOLE COUNTY LOCAL MITIGATION PLAN.
Whereas, areas of the City of Longwood are Il—bl, w the homer and economic
costs of natural, technological, and societal disasters, and
Whereas, the City of Longwood governing body reoli— the imponnnoeof re .mg.,
eliminating those wlnenbilities for the overall good and welfare ofthe community, end
Whereas, the City of Longwood has been —dim participant in the Seminole County
Mitigation 2f20 Task Force, which has established a comprehensive, coordinated
planning process involving the county end its municipalities, as well as other public and
private recto organ-mb, to elimmaa or decrease these vWnerabilifesand

Whereas, City of Longwood representatives and staff have reviewed the information
provided by or for tho other participating juri"didiona and organiietions, including the
pmjeds and programs they have proposed for incorporation imo the Seminole County
Local Mitigation Plan, and
Whereas, Nese proposed projects and programs have been incorporated into the curtent
edition of tine Sem Hole County Local Mitigation Plan that has been prepared mrd issued
for consideration and implementation by [it .mmmuniki and jndi iotioos of Seminole
County.
Now therefore, be it resolved on the 19" f January, 2004 that,
I. City of Longwood hereby accepts and approves of its designated portion of
the FEMA Seminole County LOW Mitigation Plea,
2. City of Longwood accepts and endorses the mitigationgoalsmtdobjnf—
establl.hed by the Task Force for the countywide plan, and the onticli
schedule for the next update, fthe plan.
3. City of Longwood finds that the proposed mitigation projects end programs
included m the plan by other j oHi w ions and organimt — are aco.ptable,
that they will not adversely affect the county or Its neighbor, and that they do
o.JTi with or duplicate the mitigation proposals made by the county
itself
4. The agency personnel of the Cityof Longwood are req—M and inmucted to
pursue nvaflable fwdi.g opp "mities for Implememauo. of the proposals
designated therein,
5. The agencies and organizations within the City of Longwood will,upon
ceipts of such funding or other necessary resl—, seek to implement
proposals...tained in the c000ty's individual section of the mategy, and
6. The City of Longwood will continue to participate in the updating and
expansion ofIhe FEMA Seminole County Local Mitigation Plan in the yeah
ahead, and
7. The City of Longweod will further seek w encourage the business, indmtle
and community groups within Seminole County to also participate in dte
updating and expansion of thun e Smntnole Coy Lceal Mitigea m ation Plthe
years ahead.
