Resolution 02-1044RESOLUTION NO. 02-1044 A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COMMIS310N OF THE CITY OF I.ONGWOOD, FLORIDA, CERTIFYING THAT HABITAT FOR HUMANFFY W SEMWOLECOUNTY,INC.'S PROGRAM FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF ROUSING FOR VERY-LOW-WCOME PERSONS IS CONSISTENT WITH LOCAL PLANS AND REGULATIONS, PROVIDING FORAN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Habimt for Humardty in Seminole County, In<.'s (Habitat) program for the [ruction ofhousing for very-low inwme persons is designed to ot£er home ownership to very-tow-income residents ofthe City of Longwood in an effort to eliminate substandard housing and develop a healthy, safe and economically viable community; and W NEREAS, the Habitat building program makes owner-occupied housing available to all eligible pereovs through privato-public partnerships and "sweat equity" on the parry of the purchasing persons; and W HEREAS, the Habitat building program will be wnsis[ent with the provisions of the wmprehensive Plan of the City of Longwood and all local plans and regulations; end WHEREAS, the City oflongwood supports both the Habitat building program and incentive programs that fenilitate the prowtsion of atfordable, owner-occupied housing; and WRF.RF,AS, Chapter 220, Florida Statutes, provides wrporare income tax credits such as [he wmmuNry contribution tax credit, asset out in Section 220.183, Florida Statutes, as an incentive to donate materials to eligible projects for wnnrvction of low income housing: and WHEREAS, the criteria set forth in the SlaNte requires a unification by local government that the project is consistent with local plans and regulations be included in the application for Comm nity contribution tax credits. NOW, THEREFORE, BE tT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMSSION OE THE CITY OF I.ONGW 00D, FLORIDA: L Habimt for Humanity in Seminole County's building program which provides for the wnstruction ofhousing for very-tow-income residents ofthe City of Longwood is consistent with local plans and regulations. 2.
