Seminole County and ,Ci ty of Longwootl (hereinaHer the Municipality) recognize Ne vulnerabltity of Nelr communities to Ne impacts of disasters, and Whereas, Seminole Counfy has enteretl into an agreement with the Flotitla Department of Community Affairs to tlevelop a single, county-wide hazartl mitigation sVategy, and Whereas, the municipally wishes to panlolpete es a partner with the County in Hie tlevelopment of this mitigation strategy, Now therefore the County antl Municipality agree [o the following: 1. That the provisions of COntfactual Services Agreement 99~LM-4H-0669-Ot-055 (hereinafter the Agreement) between Seminole County and Ne State of Floritla. Department of Community Affairs, executetl July 16. 1998 is applicable to this agreement. 2. That Ne funding made available Yo the Municipality by the Depanment Df Community Affairs pursuant to the Agreement will be retained by Ne County for purposes of supporting the tlevelopment of a single county-witle mitigation strategy, 3. That the County will contractfor the services of Emargenoy Response Planning& Management, Inc.. (hereinaHer the Contrflclor) to provide technical antl staff in the tlevelopment of the mitigation strategy, antl be responsible for echntical antl management oversight of the Contractor. 4. The County, with the assistance of the Contractor, will perform the following tluties: A. Establish the Steering Committee and Working Group, plan meeting schetlules, antl provitle staff services thereto, t3. Support the subcommittees of the Sleeting Committee and WOMing Group, C. Document all meetings of the Steering Committee antl Working Group in cord with State guidance, D. October 22. 1998 The purpose of this Mitigation Strategy Meeting waz to discuss the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) baween the Munioipalitiea and the County, review the process for developing a unified mitigation stmtegy and to establish a Steering Committee aad Sub-Committees.
