THERF.FDRE, be zt known that the aforesaitl law enforcement agencies
hereby approve antl enter into this agreement whereby each of the
agencies may zequ est or agree to render law enforcement assistance to
the other in law enf orcemen[ intensive situations to Inclutle, but not
necessarily be limitetl to, civil disturbances, large protest
demonstrations, aarcraf[ tlisaster, fires, natpial or man matle tl[sast ,
sporting events, cone ex , parades, escapes from detention facilities,
and incidents requiring utilization of specialized units.
SECTION II PROVISIONS FOA VOLUNTARY COOPERATION
THEREFORE, be i[ known [hat the aforesaid law enforcement agencies
hereby approve antl enter into this Agreement whereby each of the
agen<zes may rentler law enforcement assistance to the other to dealing
with any violations of Florida Statutes to include, but not necessarily
be lim.ted to, investigating homicides, sex offenses, robberies,
assaults, burglaries, larcenies, gambling, motor vehicle thefts, and
drug violations, pursuant to Chapter 893, Florida Statutes, back-up
services, other routine patrol, antl law enforcement acttviei es antl
inter-agency task forces, and/or jol nt Investigations inclutling but not
ltmi red [o, the Ci [y/County/State Traf ftc Enforcement tlni[, the
City/County Investigative euxeau, the City/County Canine Unii, the
Special Weapons and Tactics Team, antl the Bomb Disposal unit.
SECTION I22
a. In the even[ that a party to this Agreement is an need
of assistance as set forth above, at shall notify the
agency head o[ his designee from who such assistance [s
required. The agency heatl tlesignee whose assistance is
sought shall evaluate Che situation, and the agency's
available resources, consult with his/her supervisors if
necessary, and will respontl in a manner he/she tleems
appropriate. The agency heatl's tle cision in [his regard
shall be final.
The resources or facilities [hat are assigned by the
assisting agency shall be under [he immetliate command of
a supervising officer, designated by the assisting
agency head. Such supervising officer shall be under
the dire<C supervision and command of the agency heatl or
his designee of the agency requesting assistance.
olhere investigative priorities arise during a lav
enforcement operaxion which may require the crossing of
juri stlictional lines, each party agrees that the agency
administrator or his designee on duty shall notify the
agency administrator of the jurisdiction entered, and
request enforcement assistance. The responding agency
admi nistza for or his designee shall evaluate the
situation, consul[ with his appropriate supervisor if
enforcement assistance is tendered.
d. Should an off leer of a participating agency be in
another jurisdiction for matters of a routine nature, or
investigative nature, such as travelling through the
area on routine business, attending a meeting, or going
to or from work, and a violation of Florida Statutes
occurs in the presence of saitl officer, the officer
shall be empoweretl Co rentler enforcement assistance and
act in accordance with law. Prior to enforcement action
being taken in the other agency's jurisdtctton, the
officer shall notify that jurisdtction's Communication
center of the situation. The only exception would be
the situation where immediate action 15 necessary. In
that event, the Communicaxions Center would be notified
ammediat ely thereafter.

assistance and act in accordance with the law.
SECTION IV POWERS, PRIVILEGES IMMUNITIES D COSTE
s. Members of the subscribed law enforcement agencies, when
actually engaging in mutual cooperation and assistance
ou tstde of the jurisdictional limits of their respective
agencies, undez the terms of this Agreement, shall,
puzsuant to the provvsicns of Sectt on 23.127, Flozida
Statutes, Rave the same powers, duties, rights,
privileges, and immunitves, as if they were performing
their duties in the political subdivision in which tRey
are normally employed.
b. Each party agrees to furnish necessary equipment, -
_ rasonrces, ana factliaies, ana to rentler services to
eacrt other party to the Agzeement as set forth above,
provitled however, that no party shall be required to
deplete unreasonably tts own equipmenx, ieso.r<e ,
facilities and servvc es, vn £urntshing such mutual aid.
c. The agency furnishing aid, pursuant to this Agreement,
sha 11 bear the loss or damages to such equipment, and
shall pay any expense ancuried in the operation and
maintenance thereof. '
d. The agency furnishing aid, pursuant to [his Agreement,
shall compensate its appointees/employees durtng the
time such aid is rendered, and shall defray the actual
travel maintenance expenses of such appointees/employees.

All the privileges arttl immunities from liability,
exemption from laws, ordinances and rules, and all
pension, insurance, relief, disability, worker's
compens atton, salary, death and other benefits wRicR
apply to the actvvity of such of ftcexs, agents, or
employees of any such agency when performing their
respective functions within the territorial limits of
their respective public agencies, shall apply to [hem to
the same degre , manner, antl extent while engaged £n the
performance of any of their functions and duties
extraterritortally under the provisions of this Mutual
Aid Agreement. The provist one of this section shall

indemnify the other participating party and his appointees/employees,
subject to provisions of Section 768.28, Floritla Statutes, where
applicable, antl provided such party shall have control of the tlef ense
of any suit or claim to which sand duty to vndemnify applies. Each
pasty shall be responsible for the acts, omvssvo ns, or conduct of its
own employees.
Each party shall provide satisfactory proof of liability insurance by
one or mare of the means specifietl in Section )68.28(14), elorida
Statutes, vn an amount which is, vn the jutlgment of the governing body
of that party, a[ least adequate to cover the risk to which that party
may be expos etl. Should the insurance coverage, however provitletl, of
any party be canceled or undergo mate ri sl change, that pasty shall
notify all parties to this Agreement of such change within ten (10)
days of receipt of notice or actual knowl etlge of such change.
SECTION VII EFFECTIVE GATE
This Agreement shall Cake effect upon execution and approval by the
hereinafter named officials, antl shall contvnue in full force and
r effect until January ~, 199, unless terminatetl prior thereto by any or
all the parties herein.
SECTION VSII CANCELLATION
This Agreement may be cancel etl by any party upon tlelivery of wratten
notice to the other parties. Cancellation will occur at the tlirection
of any subscii bang party.
