5.01 (c) as follows:
•'(i) The City Commission of Longwood, Floritla, shall, within
180 days o£ passage of this charter amendment, abolish the police
department. No one with the power of arrest shall be on the
payroll.
(Z) Concomitantly, the City Commission shall depend o the
Sheriff of Seminole County for police ozotection and shall contract
with the sheriff to provide additional police protection and police
£unetione foi the City of Longwood, Florida, as deemed n ary by
the City c this additional level of eprotection
shall not exceeds 22 deputies the £irst contract year.
