WHEREAS, the Seminole County proposed widening of CR 427
to a six lane highway will irreparably change the character and
appearance of downtown Longwood, including its National Register
Historic Di.tlibt, and
WHEREAS, the proposed widening of CR 427 through Longwood
would be inappropriate given the character and nature of the ar ,
WHEREAS, the proposed widening of CR 427 to Ii, lanes
will impact greatly on many commercial businesses and some
residences, in that their —iness and residential locations will
be eliminated and they will be forced I. reloca nd
WHEREAS, th. six laving of CR — would make possible the
development of more intense commercial development tD the detriment
of the residential area and
WHEREAS, the proposed widening o£ CR 127 to six lanes
Will Cause the City of Longwood to lose commercial and residential
tax base by the elimination of these sites, and
WHEREAS, the proposed widening o£ CR 427 to a sax lane
highway would not be bicyclist and pedestrian frrendly due to
increased speed, and number of vehicles, and
WHEREAS, the proposed widening of CR 427 to Ni. lanes
will encourage more traffic at greater speed traveling through the
City of Longwood, j—t by virtue of the road being able to
accommodate a greater number of vehicles, and
WHEREAS, the proposed widening of CR 427 would encourage
WHEREAS, the proposed widening of CR 427 would create
ngestion where it inteesects with other four lane road=
