WHEREAS, Chapter 170, Florida Statues, provides for
methods of making local municipal i p ovements such as paving of
At—, B.d p vrdes for the assessment of the Costs Of such
improvements against property deemed to have benefited from such
p ovements, and
WHEREAS, the City COmmission, during discussions held at
City Comm rssion Meeting of H y 8, 1990, deemed it desirable to
amend th p sen policy so that the City would pay sixty percent
(60%) of the assessment of costs for the p 9 of streets within
the City of Longwood, and,
wHEREAS, it is the desire of the City COmmrssron to
es tab.lrsh this policy to promote a more q table long range pawing
program,
NOW, THEREFORE, RE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF LONGWOOD, AS FOLLOWS:
1. The p icy of the City of Longwood, F10rida,
regarding pa ing assessment for spree p ings will be to assess
abutting property owners f0 ty percent (4G%) of the costs of the
paving and for the City of L g ooa to assume respons ibitity for
the remaining sixty percent (608).
2. Th. pt.—Sus policy regarding pa ing assessments for
paving City streets established by Resolution No. 558 is hereby
cancelled and superseded.
