Resolution 85-531RESOLUTION NO. 531 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA, SETTING FORTH THE POLICY OF THE CITY OF LONGWOOD PERTAINING TO FUTURE PAVING OF STREETS AND THE APPORTIONMENT OF PAYMENTS FOR PAVING OF STREETS WHEREAS, Chapter 170, Florida Statutes, provides for methou_� If making Ioca1 municipal impxovemen is such as the paving of sexeees and providing for the assessment of the cost of such improvements against property deemed to be benefited by such local improvements; and WHEREAS, it it the intention of the City Commission to adopt I uniform policy pertaining to the poxtion of the assessment £or the paving of .streets to be paved by the property owners and the poxtion of the assessment to be paid by the City If Longwood, Florida; and WHEREAS, the present policy established by Resolution No. 414 on September 22, 1980 requires revision t0 promote a long range paving program. --% NOW, THEREFORE, HE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS; 1. The policy of the City of Longwood regarding paving If streets will be rhat the casts will be assessed equally among the ab—ing property owners and the City. Each abutting property owner will pay one ehitd of the costs of the improvement and the City wi1L assume one third of the costs. 2. The City wi11 consider the paving of any street upon presentation of a petition signed by at least fifty one (51) percent of the abutting property owners. 3. Previous policy regarding paving of streets e.st ab Lisheu~ in Resolution No. 414 is hereby cancelled. 4.
