WHEREAS, Representative Bobby Brantley has corresponded with the Gove rnorin an effort to solicit his introduction of a Bill during the 1980 Special Session to repeal Chapter BO-88, in particular Section 4, Subsection 2(h7; and WHEREAS, Chapter 80-88 preempts Che exe rose of munv cipal "Home Rule Powezs" by the City; and WHEREAS, the preemption o' munvcipal "Home Rule Powers" aborts the exercvse by the City of Longwood, Florida, of legislative and 1 executvve_anthori ty for the protection of the public health, welfare, and safety of its citizens; and WHEREAS, the City of Longwood, Florida supports the agg resslve solicitation of Representative Bobby bran tley From Governor Bob Graham. Bob Graham to seek repeal o£ Chapter 80-88 at the Special Session of the Legislature of the State of Florida contemplated after October 30, 1980. 1 ection 2.
