RESOLBT ION NO.p90
WF3ERCA5, the City of Longwood, Florida, has adapted by
Ordinance No. 3"14 The southern Standard Building Code, 19"14
Revision to the 19>3 Edition as the buildi nq code of the City of
Longwood, Florida; and,
wFffi REAS, Ordrnance No. 374 prohibits any person, firm
ox cozporation from erecting, constructing, enlarging, altering,
repairing, improving, mov iog ox demolishing any building or
structure without first obtaining a separate building permit for
each building or stxuct ure from the -uilding Official; and,

and specifications Eor t e proposed co ns tructvon when appli catio

2. That the Building Official shall revvew subdivision
proposals and other proposed new developments to assure that (L)
all such proposals are cons vstent with the need to mvnrmrze flood
damage, (2j all public utilities and facrl>t res, such as sewer,
gas, electrical, and water systems, are located, elevated, and
constructed to mvnvmvze or eliminate flood damage, and (3)
adequate drainage is provided so as to reduce exposure to flood
hazards; and,
3. That the Building Official shall. require new or
replacement water supply systems and/or sanitary sewage systems
to be designed to mvnvmvze ox eliminate infiltration of flood
waters unto the systems and discharges from the systems into
flood waters, and require on-sure waste disposal systems to bo
located so as to avoid impairment of them or contamrnatron From
them during flooding.
4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
