Resolution 248WHEREAS, a suit has been instituted by Mayor Eugene D. ~^
Jacques against the City of Longwood, and the members of the
City Council, said sort having been brought in the Circuit Court
in and for Seminole County, hearing Civil Action No. ]4-34B-D; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable and in the best interests of
the City that this suit be defended by an attorney other than the
City Attorney of Longwood.
NOW
THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY

OF LDNGWOOD, FLORIDA:
(1) That an attorney at law be appointed as "SPECIAL
CITY ATTORNEY to take all necessary actions, to answer and ,,,`
defend the said suit as he deems fit, and further that Council
will cooperate with the Special City Attorney and will assist
him as he requires, in the preparation and litigation of the
said sur t.
(2) That the title "SPECIAL CITY ATTORNEY" be retained
by said attorney to perform such other legal services as may
from time to tlme be assigned to said attorney by the City
council.
(3) That the Special City Attorney be compensated For
his services at the same rate as the present City Attorney is
compensated Fos similar legal services performed by him.
(4) This Resolution shall become effective immediately
upon its passage and adoption.
(5) The Special City Attorney shall be appointed by the
City Council Chairman.
