Resolution 224RESOLUTION N0. ~. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA, PROVIDING ~.,. FOR COMPLIANCE WITN CERTAIN REQUIREMENTS UNDER THE FLORI OA REVENUE SNARING ACT 19]3 WNEAEAS, the City of Longwood, Florida, desires to participate in and recer ve from the State of Fto ri da, at the earliest passible time, a77 funds which the City of Longwood, Florida, is entitled to receive under the Florida Revenue Sharing Act 1973, as said Act may fran time tq time be amended, and WHEREAS, in order to qualify for said revenue sharing funds tluri ng the 1973-74 fiscal year, the City of Longwood, Florida, is required to complete and return to the Florida Department of Revenue on or before June 1, 1973, an application for Revenue Sharing 19]3 including certification that, All police gffi cers, as defined by subsection 23.061 (1) ~. a Florida Statutes, employed by the City of Lgngwpod, Florida, meet the qualifications for employment as established by the Police Standards Board of the State of F7 on da, B. The salary structure and salary plans of the City of Longwood. Florida, for law enforcement officers meet the provisions of Part IV of Lha pter 23, Florida Statutes, and c. All police fficers defined in subsection 23.061 (I ), Florida Statutes of5tate of Florida compensated at an annual salary rate of 5 6,000 or more, anda re WHEREAS, upon due investigation, the City Council of the Li ty of Longwood, Florida, has determined [hat all police officers employed by the Li ty tlo meet the qualifications for employment established by the Police Standards Board, and that no police officer employed by the City of Longwood. is compen- _ sated far his services at an annual salary rate of less than $ 6,000, and the City Council of Longwood desires to hereby evidence by this resolution said City's compliance with the provisions of Paragraphs (a), (b) and (c) above; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY LOUN LIL OF_ THE CITY OF LGNCi1000, FLORtOA, A5 FOLLOtJS: SECTION 1. QDALI FICAT IONS OF POLICE OFFi CE P.S: The City Council has duly investigated the qualifications of each police officer presently employed by the City of Longwood, and has determ toed that all such police officers do meet the gain ifi cati ons for employment established by the Police Stan dx rds Council of the State of Florida; and all police officers hereafter employed by the City of Lon9;rood, Florida. shall, prior to employment, be required tq show /~ !hat they meet said qu alif i<ati ons for employment. S ELTI ON 2. MINIMUM SALARY FOR POLICE OFF IL ERS: All poki ce officers emOloyed by the City of Longwood, Florida, are compensated at an anneal sal arr rate of 5 6,ODO or more. SECTION 3. SALARY INCENTIVE PROGRAM: . .. ._.. The salary incentive benefits as defined in Section 23.078, Florida Statutes and authpri zed hereby shall be payable in accordance with the rule and regulations established by the Bureau of Police Standards through its Council in cooperation with the peDartemnt of Lomnuni ty Affairs. SECTION 4. SUBMISSION OF REPORTS: The Li ty of Longwood, shall submit quarterly reports to the Police Stantla rds Council as of pecember 31, March 31. June 30 and September 30, of each year containing info rman ti on relative to canpensati on of police officers empi Dyed by it, and such other information as the Council may require. SECTION 5. EFFECTIVE GATE: Except as herein otherwise specifically indicated all provisions of this resolution sb all be and became effective immediately upon its adoption hereof.
