A RESOLUTION OE THE CITY OF LONGW00D, FLORIDA,
PROVSDING FOR COMPLIANCE WITH CERTAIN REQUIRE-
MENTS UNDER THE 19]2 FLORIDA REVENUE. SHARING
ACT.
WHEREAS, the Ciey of Longwood, Florida, desires co
participate in and receive Exam the State of Florida, at [he
earliesc possible ti all funds which the City of Longwood
xs entitled eo rec eLVe under the 1972 Florida Revenue Shacing
Act, Senaee Bill 2-F, as said Act may from time to tome be
amended, and -
WHEREAS, in order eo qualify Eor said re.venve sharing
funds during the 1972-1973 fiscal year, the City of Longwood
cs re gvired to complete and re [urn to the Florida Department of
Revenue on or before Sune 1, 1972, a Report Form of pexti nent
data including ce re ific at ion that:
(a) Ail police officers, as defined by Section
23.061 (1), Florida Statutes, employed by the City of Longwood,
meet the qualifications Lor emp Loyment as established by the
Police Standards Council of the State of Florida, and
(b) No law enforc emene officer employed by the City
of Longwood is compens aced for his servrces at an annvai salary
rate of Less than $6,000, and
(c) The salary structure and salary plans of the City
of Longwood for law enforcement officers will meet the proviss
of Part IV of ChaPC er 23, Florida Statutes, 19]2; and
WFIEREAS, upon due inveetiga[ion, the City Council of
the City of Longwood has determined that all police officers
employed by the Ciey do meet the yuali£ications for employment
established by the Police Seand ards Council, and that no law
enforcement officer employed by the City of Longwood is
compensated for his se rvrc es at an annual salary race of less
Chan $6,000, and the City Council of the Cicy of Longwood,
desires to hereby evidence by chis Resolution said City's
compliance wich the provisions of Paragraphs (aj and (b) above,
and to hereby adope the gvali £y ing measures set forth in
Paragraph (c) above.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Qualifications of Police Officers - The
City Council of ehe Cicy of Longwood, Florida, has duly
rnvescigat ed the qualific aeions o£ each law enforcement officer
presen ely employed by the Cicy of Longwood, and has deeermi ned
that all such law enforcement officers do meet the qualification
for employee n[ escab lisped by the Police Standards Council o£
the State of Flox ida; and all law enEorcemene officers hereafter
employed by the City of Longwood shall, prior to employment, be
required to show chat chey meet said qualific scions for
employment.
SECTION 2: Mi nimim Salarv for Police Officers - No
law enforcement offic ex employed by the City of Longwood, Florid
rs compensated For hi.s se rvrc es at an annual salary race of
less than $6,000.
SECTION 3: Salarv Incenti a Proeram -The salary
incentive benefits auehorized hereby shall be payable in
accordance with [he rules and regulations established by Che

Bureau of Police Standards through its Board in cooperation
with the Department of Co®uni ty Affairs.
SECTION 4: Submisaion of Repotts - The City of
Longwood shall submit reports Co the Police Standards Council
on December 31, March 31, .Tune 30 and September 30 of each year

Council may require.
SECTION 5: Effective Date - Except as herein other-
