AN ORDINANCE OF TAE CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA,
RELATING TO THE DEMOLITION OF BUILDINGS;
AMENDING CHAPTER 5 OF THE LONGWOOD CITY CODE OF
ORDINANCES; RENUMBERING SECTION 5-0 ENTITLED
"BULDING PERMIT FEE SCHEDULE" TO SECTION 5-5, ANll
ADOPTING A NEW SECTION 5-4 ENTITLED "BUILDING
DEMOLITION" REQUIl2ING THE RECORDATION OR
RUbDII`1G DEMOLITIONS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS,
SEVERARILTTY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Chapter 5 of the Longwood City Code provides for certaiv Building and
Building Regulatiorvs; and
WHEREAS, the City of Longwood recognizes the valve of buildings as they presently
e ,and
WHEREAS, It Is in the best interest oP the City to esmblish a parmanent record of
buildings prior to then demolition,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA;
SECTION ONE: Chaptu 5,'BUildings and B lding Regulations," section 5-4 is ebauged
to eeonon 5-5 of the City Codeof Longwood, Plorida, m its evtirefy.
SECTION TWO: Anew section 5-4 shall be hereafter added [o reatl as follows:
Sec. 5-0 Demolition
Any property oumer who wishes to demolish a building in a commercial of industrial land use
disaict must submit an applicadon to obtain a pemtit.
The application shall include pictures of Ne sttucture Nat is to be demolished It the total
structure is to be demolished then a picture of each outide wall including the roof to Bound
level oC Ne building shall be recortled. The inside of each room shall also be phom~aphed. If
only a portion of a building is to be demolished Nrn pictures of the inside and outside of Ne
portion to ba demolished shall be included.
Pictwes shell be initially recordedm color and submitted in bardcopy/print format (Sx'!) wiN
vegan cs and on computer/compact disc. Two copies of Ne hazd copy and computer/compact
disc shall be submitted. This format and submission may be change as authorized by Ne City
~ Admimsnater m order to meet Ne demands oCchanging media and recording methods.
SECTION TWO: CONFLICTS. My and all ordinances or pans of ordmances in conflict
herewiN are and Ne same hereby repealed.
SECTION TitREE: SEVERABILITY. tf any pmvision of Nis ordinance or the application
thereof to any person or circumstances is held invalid Ne invalidity shall not affect other
provrstons o applicanons of Ne ordinance which can be given effect without Ne Invalid
provision or application, and to this end Ne provisions oCthis ordinance are declazed severable.
SECTION FOUR: EFFECTIVE DATE. This oedinance shall become ethetive immediately
