WHEREAS, the City Commission of the city of L—gwood,
Florida, appointed a Charter Advisory Committee pursuant AD ArtiCle
%, Section 1D.01 (I) of the City Charter for the purpose of
reviewing the Chaster of the City and submitting recommendations to
Advisory COmm it—, and the City Commission of the City of
Longwood, Florida, proposed the following amendments to the. Charter
Of the City of Longwood to be submitted t0 the voters of the City
of Longwood at the next general election oC Tuesday, November I,
1992.

City Commissioners shall be elected for a term of three (1)
years. Beginning it 1993, elections will be held for Commissioners
from districts, One (1), two (2), and four (4). Election of
Commissioners for districts three (1) and five (5) will be held in

pattern will follow upon expiration of terms.

The City Commission by majority vote shall appoint the City

Clerk and City Attorney for an indefinite term at such Compensation
as 1s deemed necessary and proper. Said officers may be discharged
