Ordinance 89-955AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA AMENDING THE CITY'S PERSONNEL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES AND THE ADOPTEON OF THE PAY AND CLASSIFICATION PLAN; PROVIDING FO CONFLICTS; SEVERAHILSTY AND EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS. it is in the public interest of «e citizens of Longwood and its City employees that its personnel policies and p y and classification plan be continually reviewed and updated; WFffiREAS, the City of Longwood, Florida, presently has collective bargaining relationships that warrant revision of its personnel policies due to the results of collective bazgaining; WHEREAS. the City of Longwood does no[ have an approved pay and classification plan; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LONGWOOD, That the City of Longwood Personnel Policies and Procedures adopted by Ordinance No. 825 ort Sune 1. 198, are hereby repealed. The City of Longwood, Florida, hereby adopts the Personnel Policy and Procedures contained in Chapter 1 through Chapter 12 which by reference thereto is made apart o£ this ordinance. SECTION 2 That these Personnel Policies era adopted as applicable to all non-bargaining unit employees, and sworn certified law enforcement personnel unless superseded by State Statutes. These policies are not adopted or pplicable to. A. Member of the Longwood City Commission and persons appointed to fill vacancies on the L ngwood City Commission. A. Members appointed by Che Longwood City Commission to serve on advisory committees or special boards and commissions. C, Persons retained on a contractual Eee For services or retainer basis. Employees classified as temporary appointments or seasonal employees, except as may be specifically identified vn the Personnel Policies and Procedures. E. Florida, hereby adopts the Pay and Classification Plan which contains Pay Grade and Position Classification Lrs tongs far Pay Grade/Classification Series 100. Pay Grade/Classification Series 300, and Pay Grade/Classification serres 500, which by reference Uiereto rs made part of this ordinance. SEC That the Pay and Classification Plan establishes the salary ranges, with a mrnvnum and maxvmum salary range for all City classifications; and. that those positions in City serve ce that are determined to be Exempt. in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act, are so identified vn the Pay and Classification Plan. SECTION 6~ That the Pay and Classification Plan .vs adopted as applicable to all non-bargaining unit City of Longwood employees except those excluded in Section 2.A. thru 2.E.. That the Pay and Classification Plan vs adopted as applicable to bargaining unit employees of the City of Longwood, Florida, subiect to the collective bargaining process.
