purchase of land and facilit e to be used for parks and recreatvon 1
through the establishment of a special levy of Ad Valorem Taxes of I mill

NOW, THEREFORE, 6E IT ED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA, AS FOLLO S:
N 1: This Ordinance adopted in compliance with the
Charter of the City of Longwood, Ftori as amended and adopted, and
an accordance with Chapter 166.041 of th Florida Statutes.
SECTION 2: Tnis Ordinance autho a special fund for the
purchase of land or buildings and the cons on of parks and recreation
facilities to meet the needs of the citizens Dogwood, Florida. .`
SECTION 3 The funding for additional and for parks and
recreation facilities shall come From a special fu d created in this

(b) In addition to the establishment of a separate Ad Valorem
Tax for the purchase of land, buildings and equipment, the City Com-
mrssron rs hereby further authorized to establish such user fees as
the City Commission may deem advisable and necessary in order to alleviate
the tax burden imposed on the cut rams of Longwood for the mavntenance,
repair and utility costs of the parks and recreatvon facilities. The

requiring the Sevy of Ad Valorem Taxes, this Ordinance shall take effect
immediately upon passage and adoption. As to those p visions requiring
the levy of Ad Valorem Taxes, this Ordinance shall take effect upon the
Commission receiving the approval for levy by referendum vote. In no
case shall the City be required to purchase any assets or levy any taxes
without the approval o£ a majority of qualified voters voting on the
referendum.
