WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Longwood, Florida, has determi oed that ft is in the Les[ interests of the health, safety, and welfare of [he rest den [s of the City, that certain commercial vehicles and trucks be prohibited from traveling through or upon certain rest tlenti al roads, streets, and public ihoro ughfa res within the Li ty, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITV COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORI pA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: Certain vehicles prohibited. When a sign is posted giving notice thereof, no person shall tlri ve any commercial vehicle or truck, which vehicle or truck has a gross veM1i cle weight ,p excess on zoao pDnntle, uvnn such pescea road, street or pnmm tho rough £a re in residentially zoned areas within the City, e cep[ fire or emergency vehicles, City maintenance trucks, vehicles making local pickups or deliveries, and [hose trucks or commercial vehicles having prior written De rmission to do so by the police chief or the mayor during the Lime of national emergencies, or by consent of the Ci [y Cammi scion of the City of Lan gwootl. SECTION 2: Posting signs. TM1e police chief is hereby authorized to post si qns upon tno se roads, streets, or public Lhoro ughfares of the City as shall be determined to be in the best interests of the health, safety, and welfare of the residents of the Li ty, subject to any rules and regulations promulgated by [he State Department of Transportation, and subject to rati fi CaYion by resolution of the Li ty Commission. Any person viol aYi ng any of the proves to ns of this ordinance shall be deemed quit ty of a m; sdemeanor area uvon convmt,on rnereof snare be f; nee not ~ exceeding two-hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) or by imprisonment fora period not to exceed thirty (30) days, or by both such tine and imprisonment. All ortlf na nces or parts thereof in conflict herewith, be and the same are hereby re peal etl. SECTION 5: Separability.
