G52 WHEREAS, the present facilities of the Longwood Police -epartment are grossly inadequate to meet the needs of their growing department and there are no other Ea cilities within the City available For their use, and WHEREAS, present Ad Valorem Taxes are rasuffici ent to fund the needed police statron, and WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to request the crtr zens o_ Longwood to approve purchase and construction of a ne ool ice station through the establishment of a special 1 fund by way of a special levy of Ad Valorem Taxes of .5 mills per year; and NOW, mryEREFORF., S£ IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COM,NZSSION OF THE CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: ECT20N 1: This Ordinance is adopted in compliance with the Aevrs ed Charter of the City o£ Longwood, Florida, as amended and adopted, and in conformance wrth Chanter 166.041 of the Florida Statutes. SECTION 2: This Ordinance authorizes the construction of a new police statron to meet the needs of the citizens of A Longwood, Florida. SECTION 3: The Funding For the new police statron shall come from a special revenue fund as created in this Ordinance. SECTION 4: A special revenue Fund shall be created by a special Ad Valorem tax of .5 mills each year For a period of two (2) budget years to be used for constructron o£ a new police statron. T ~ c "`f
