WHEREAS, the city Commission has recervea numerosss complaints
from residents concerning commercial. companies picking up garbage and
refuse in the early moxn.ing hours and being disturbed by the noose
created by garbage trucks; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that an ordinance
limiting the hours of operation and pickup of commercial garbage and
refuse companies to ]:00 a.m. until ]:00 p.m. vs required.
/~- N THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISEZON OF THE
CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOwE:

Ordinances are Rereby amended as follows:
Add paragraph 9-1 which reads as follows: "9-I. Garbage
and Refuse Collection. Garbage and refuse collection for residents
of the City of Longwood is provided by privately owned commercial
companies through individual contracts between the company and the
individual concerned."
Add paragraph 9-2 which reads as follows: "9-2. Hours of
Operation and Garbage Pickup. The hours of operation for qa rbage

Limits of the City of Longwood are Hereby designated to be from
7:00 a.m. until ]:OO p.m. Garbage and refuse companies are hereby
prohibited from collecting and pickup Of garbage and refuse except
during those hours. Garbage and refuse companies are also hereby
prohibited from collecting and pickup of garbage and refuse from
any residential a n Sundays and on the following holidays,
New Year s Day, Memorial Day, the Fourth of ,IUly, Thanksgiving and
cnristmas oar.'.
