I¢HE REAS, Ordinance No. 2]D o£ the City of Lougwood,
Florida adopted the State Uniform Traffic Control Lain, Chapter 316,
Florida Stat axes; and

Provision which is no longer effective due to the abolition of the
muni nal court system; and
IVHE REAS, the City of Longwood, Florida desires to establish
additional stopping, standing o _arking regulations in the City of
Longwood, Florida; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lon g~eood, Plori da desi ras to provide
for ca v.il penat tuns for violation of stopping, sxandi nF or parking
n rohibi tions contained in the State Uniform Tra Ff is Control law and
ordinance No. 220;
NOIV, THEREFORE, RE tT ORDASNEU by the City Commission of
the City of Longwood, Florida:
~` Section 1. That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 220 is hereby
deleted.
Section Z. That Ordinance No. 220 is hereby amended by
the addition of the folloiaing Section:
Section Additional Parking Regulations.
(A) Stopping, standing or parking prohibited near
hazardous or con gas tod places.
IVhen a sign prohibiting parking is erected upon xhe
approach to a hazardous or congested place, no Pcr son shall stop,
stand or park a vehicle in any such designaxed place.

(B) Parking so as not to obstruct traffic.
(1) No person she 11 stop, stand o _ark any
vehicle in a street an such a manner or under such conditions as
to leave avellab le less than ten (r0) feet o£ the width of the
roadway £or free movement oP vehicular tra~Ffic, except that a driver
may stop t arily during the actual loading or unloading o{
passengers or when necessary in obedience to a traffic regulation or
a tra £fic sign or ~n al or a police officer.

when a y uch stop or stand has been officially designated and
appropriately marked by a sign.

'Pro vi dad the penalty is paid within five (5) vaorking days of the date
of issuance of the parking vro lation no to ce either by hand delivery to
the parking fines section or by dePOS.it in a penalty collection box
provided for that purpose or by ma ii ing the peanity in the postage paid
envelope provided with the notice. If such penalty 1s not paid within
the fr vo (5) working days as above provided, the amount o£ the civil
p nal ty shall be four dollars ($4.00) for the specified parking viola-
tions (parking ova rti parking over line).
(2) Any person re tea ving a parking viola Lion notice
/~ shall, ~.ith.in f.i ve (57 working days, pay the crvil penalty a p
scribed in subsectton (1) of this section or repuest a hearing before
a judge of T,he county court. Any porson electing to appear before the
designated judge shall be deemed to have weaved his r.i ght to pay the
civ31 n nalty as seY forth herein. The judge, after hearing, shall
make a determination as to whether a v.i olation has been committed. If
the convnas sa on of e vio]. at.ion has bean proven, the judg¢ may impose a
fine not to exceed one hundred dollars (3100.00) plus court costs.

(17 The City C1e rk of the City of Longwood shall
receipts therefor. The City Clerk of the City of Longwooa shall
maintain a record of such cr vil penalties, record all monies collected
and deposit monres rn the General Fund account.
(2) IF any person summoned by a parking violation
notrce of f.i red on a motor vehicle does not respond to much notrce
within the time period specified on such notice, the parking fines
section shall assess a one dollar ($1.001 delinquent fee per violation
against the registered owner o£ the motor vehicle. In addition, a
notrce of summons shall be sent, by certified marl, to the reg ste red
owner of the motor vehicle which was cited, informing such owner of
the parking violation notrce and the £ailv.re to comply therewith. i1
Such notrce shall direct the recipient to re _ond within (30) Len
calendar days; otherwise, a summons will be issued fox _ailure to
c mp ly. Costs rn the amount e£ five do l.lars ($5.00) shall be assessed
incident to this notification process.

(37 No person, whe thar the recipient thereof ar other-
wtse, shall willfully throw a ., alter, max, mutilate, destroy or
discard the written notrce of the city described in subset ti.on (1) of
this section.
(A) No person finding affixed to any veh iclo the
written notice of the ci xy described in subsection (1) of this sectton,
whether he be the own operator or driver oF, a passe uger i the
vehicle of which same is affixed, shall willfully throw away, alter,
mar, mutilat destroy or discard the wr rtten notrce of the city so
found affixed to such a vehicle.
(s) No person not being the owner or having charge of
or operating or driving a vehicle, xo ,ehi ch may be found affixed xhe
written notice of the city described in subsection (1) of this sectr ,
shall iillfully remo take arvay, throw away, m alxe r, mut it axe,
