WHEREAS, the city Csmvssvon of the City of Longwood,
Florida, deems it necessary to enact an ordinance with regard
to use of industrial waste and refuse as land fi 11 and the
presence of abandoned cefrioerators, freezers, etc., and
littering in the City of Longwood, Florida; and

the citvzens of the City and requiring immediate attentvon

a. Industrial Waste - All waste material, empty boxes
or barrels, garbage and refuse of every description when the same
shall originate, be kept, held or collected at bus vness Houses
or places of business of every kind; all building material
rea nltinq from the erection, removal, repair or eearinq down
o£ buildings; all waste material from printing offices; ashes
from steam boilers, office buildings or Hotels, restaurants and
boarding houses; offal and floor sweepings from poultry houses
and meat markets; dead anvmals; and offal and floor sweepings
from stockyards, livery, feed and sale stables.
b. Refuse - Any general combustible refuse, all
nape r, rags, pasteboard boxes, berry boxes, wooden boxes, whole
containing any vegetable or anrmal mattes tending to rapid ~

decay or putrefaction.

c. Person - The word
person" shall extend and be

SECTION 2: The use of industrial waste and refuse
as herein defined by any person for Land fill within the
territorial limits of the City of L good, Florida, be and the

SECTION 3: The dump i.ng of industrial waste and refuse
as herein defined by any person upon real property located
within the terrrtorial limits of the City of Longwood, Florida
I'n and the same rs hereby prohibited,
~ SECTION 4: It shall be unlawful for any person to
leave or permrt to remain outside of any structure (occupied,
unoccupied or abandoned) a y abandoned, unattended, discarded,
unused or un us eable icebox, refrigerator, free ver or other
container which has a door or lid equipped with a snaplock or
other Socking device which may not be released from the inside,
without first removiny such door or lid, snaplock or other
device from such container or if said con tanner shall

be in use by securing said door or lid in such a manner that
same cannot be opened from the outside without the use of a key
or combination locking device.
~ SECTION 5: It shall be unlawful for any person to

litter or scatter trash, wastepaper ox garbage within the
terrrtorial limits of the city of Longwood.
SECTION 6: Penalty Eor Violation - Any person who
violates this ordinance or fails to comply with any o£ its
requirements snail upon convrctron thereof be fined not more
than $200 or imprisoned for not more than srx (6) months, or both,
and in addition shall pay all costs and expenses involved in
the case. Each day such violation continues shall be considered
a separate offense.

The owne r tenant o£ any building, structure,
premises, or part thereof, any architect, builder, contxactox, 1
gent, or other person who commrts, participates in, assrsts
rn, or maintarns such violation may each be found guilty of a
separate offense and suffer penalties herein provided.
