Doru~a Bond - 7~ 1 Eagle Avenue, she expressed her concern for maintaining the Historical District without the Historical Preservation Board. Ms. Bundy requested that the LPA vote against abolishing the Historical Preservation Board. Nls. p2llZ made a motion to close the Public ~Yearing. Mr. Richardson secojtded the rrtvtion. LDCA ~2-0~ Longwood Development Code Amendment LDC Article VIII and Article X Ordinance Number OG-I791 MCITIONIRECOMMENDATION: Mr, Sizemore stated that the Community Development Division of the Community Services Department recommends the Land Planning Agency recommend to the City Commission approval or denial of an amendment to the Longwood Development Code ~LDCA 02-0~) by Ordinance OG-1791. ,~ LPA 03-lb-4~ Special Meeting Minutes Page I of 2 EXPLANATIONIBA~K~R[IUND: s• Mr. Sizemore ex lamed that at the Ci Commission work Session on Januar 30, 2006, the p tY Y City Commission reached a consensus that an ordinance should be draped to propose sunsetting the .1-listoric Preservation Board ~HPB}. The I-IPB is established by the Longwood Development Code and is not mandated by Florida. Statute, City Charter, or the Comprehensive Plan, FS 163.3174 requires that the Land Planning Agency make recommendations on all changes to the City's Land Development Code. All references to the I-IPB appear within Article VIII and Article X of the Longwood Development Code. The LPA may recommend approval, denial, or approvaC with amendments to the City Commission. Ms. Putt spoke about the delay in the permitting process due to the Historical Preservation Board. She expressed the problem is not with the Board but in the process. Discussion ensued. Mr. Richardson stated he agreed that the Board should have a purpose instead of being abolished. Mr. Hayes closed the Public Comment. N1s.
