Whe~•eas, the City of Longwood desires to utilize continuing services consultants in the areas of Architectural Design and Planning Services, Storm Water Master Plaruiing and Permitting Services, Geotechnical Services, Surveying and Mapping Services, Landscape Architecture Design and Planning Services, and Transportation Design and Planning Services, Whereas, the Charter for the City of Longwood, Florida provides that contracts that extend beyond the current fiscal year must be approved by Ordinance, Whereas, the City Administrator recommends that the City Commission approve the contracts between -the City of Longwood, Florida and the twelve enumerated firms; and Whereas, the provision of continuing services for the outlined professional disciplines is in the public interest for the ultimate construction of both public and private projects; NOW, TIIEREI~'ORE,13E IT ORDAINED BY TI3E CITX COlVI1VIISSION OF TII CITY OF ><.ONGWOOD, l~'LORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: . Section 1: Request for Proposals for all continuing service areas were duly advertised on January 18, 2010, Section 2: the Purchasing Maziager received seventy-four proposals on February 2, 2010, Ordinance No. 10-1918 Section 3: The City Commission for the City of Longwood, Florida approved the rat~lcing of the tluee top fii-~ns in each of six disciplines; Section 4: The City Commission hereby authorizes. the City Administrator to execute contracts with the twelve firms, Section 5: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances herewith, be and the san1e, are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict Section 6: If any section, paragraph, sentence or word of this Ordinance or the application thereof to any person or circumstances are held to be invalid, that invalidity shall not effect other sections or applications of this Ordinance, alld Section '7: This OrdinatZCe shall be in force and take effect immediately upon complete execution of the Contracts.
